Currently, when a task is created in SWSD, the built-in notification options only allow the default notification template to notify the individual task assignee. There is no option to send a notification based on the task's Group Assignment.
With Task Management V2, tasks now function more like mini incidents, making Group Assignment an important part of our workflow. Our organization assigns work to a group first, allowing members of that group to review and claim the task by assigning themselves as the individual assignee.
Because of this workflow, it would be beneficial to have an option to enable notifications for both the individual Assignee and the Group Assignment when a task is created.
This option should be available for:
- Tasks created through a workflow
- Tasks created from an incident
Adding Group Assignment as a notification recipient would better support organizations that use group-based task assignment and allow team members to be notified when new work is assigned to their group before an individual assignee is selected.
