When navigating Incident views, Changes views, Assets Views, there is a standard view screen style being used. I would like to suggest some improvements that could be made to all of these screens to improve usefulness and navigation.
- When scrolling down a view screen, do not scroll the very top screen controls (for switching views and accessing the Actions) off the top of the screen.
- Add an additional set of page movement controls to the top of the view screen - Why make us scroll to the bottom to click next page or to jump to the end or beginning?
- When opening /drilling into an item in the view list, and then clicking the back button to return from detailed view to list view, return to the clicked record in the view, not the top of the current view page. I often set my lists to view 100 items, and when working through a list to review items, being returned to the top and having to scroll all the way down to where I was gets very tiresome very quickly.
- Column widths seem to have preset minimum widths which do not seem to match with column headings or width of the data in the column. If you try to narrow up columns to the width of the headings & data, once you hit that preset minimum width, it starts removing letters from the column headings. The minimum width should be the actual column heading name before removing column heading letters. Some examples of this can be found on Software View where the VERSION column, the INSTALLS column and FIRST DETECTED column all need to have extra space to the left for no visible reasons. On the Incidents the screen the PROBLEMS column has the same issue and on the Changes screen the Date columns all seem to have extra column padding built in that takes precedence over the column heading and column data. I did not investigate every column in every screen, but I think you see the point - remove the column margin space that is taking priority over the column headings & data.
