UPDATED VERSION v1.11 - 2025/01/20 (v1.11 minor updates, v1.10 additional switches, inc. IE 3K)
This poller was created to give Machine Type specifics and other Device Details for Cisco 8xxx & 9xxx series devices in the Catalyst, IE, and IR product lines and IE 3K; which tend to be listed generically all as just "Cisco". With this poller you should get better Machine Type separation.
Some of the models included but not limited to are: Catalyst 9200, 9300, 9300X, 9500 Switches; IE-93x0 Switches (9320); Catalyst 8000 Edge Platform, 8300 Routers; IR1x00 & IR8x00 (IR8340). If a match cannot be determined, the generic "Cisco" will continue to be provided.
NOTE: I've noticed that for many switches, at least at the current software version(s) being used, they all use a similar general name like "Cisco 9300 Series Switch" based on the common OID referenced in Cisco's MIBs on the device even though there may be a defined OID for the specific model. Hopefully in future IOS-XE releases they update their OID reference and the poller is already set to provide that specific model name instead where possible. Keep in mind this is all determined by what Cisco puts for the sysObjectID on the device based on the software version. In other cases, the general name may always/only be provided.
The poller should work on SolarWinds Platform 2020.2.6 and higher, but may work on older versions too.
Please provide feedback on the poller, or if you find 8-9K models that aren't showing up and can provide the sysObjectID & actual Model I can look to include in a future update.
