I'm using the 'out-of-the-box' 'Alert me when any hardware component goes into a warning or critical state' alert. Sorta works great. As I'm adding the new hardware monitoring (which is AWESOME, by the way) I'm finding some issues and I'm getting the emails stating that there is an issue with this server and with that…
I'm trying to change the threshold of warning and critical status. I can't seem to find the location or an article explaining this issue. I apologize if I've missed the article some where.... but I did search the forum before posting. =) Is there also a way to take away the Label from all of the volumes rather than going…
I attempted to leverage the new SAM Admin role in order to allow some app team members to create/modify their own application component monitors. However, in researching the capabilities of the role, I found that it went beyond what the account limitations I set up on it. Details outlined below. * I created an Orion-local…
We bought two new HP dual Xeon quad-core CPU servers. * The SQL server has 4 15,000 RPM hard drives and is set up in a RAID 10. There is no partition, and the OS and SQL database will reside on the same physical volume (s) in the RAID array. * The SAM server has two hard drives and will be setup in a mirrored configuration…
We currently have other systems that create alerts in thier own application to remind our operators to perform certain tasks. Those systems and applications will soon be removed from our environment. We are trying to see if Advanced Alerting Manager can create an alert in NPM/SAM to do the same, just remind the operators…
Just curious on where this stands in the roam map for NPM and SAM. It seems quite a few other vendors have already embraced the integration of the three and the outcome is superior to the typical SNMP implementation. There are few bugs at SAM website which are probably known but I didn't find solution yet 1. in 'Hardware Health' resource to publish at website when more fans then data and time buttons look bad as below: 2. in 'Hardware Health' resource - 'Temperature' Tab temperature is always in Fahreinheits whatever I tried to switch…
I have a number of SRX model Juniper JunOS devices that I would like to do health monitoring on. We recently had one behaving erratically and, once we finally were able to remote into it, discovered it was over 150 degrees! Someone had sat something on top of it in the rack, cutting off cooling. Because most of these…
We upgraded to SAM 5.0 last week and it appears that all Linux SNMP process monitoring we had setup is not working anymore.. SNMP Process/Service monitors on Windows devices are not affected. Have even tried to scan for and setup a similar process monitor w/o success, any ideas on how to address?
