WS-MAN & Dell LifeCycle Controller & iDRAC 7 Integration

Just curious on where this stands in the roam map for NPM and SAM.

It seems quite a few other vendors have already embraced the integration of the three and the outcome is superior to the typical SNMP implementation.

This is something we're considering for a future release of SAM. WS-MAN is usually implemented for server configuration change management, but it does have uses in performance & availability monitoring as well. Besides the obvious advantage of not having to install Dell's Server Administrator on your servers, is there any other reasons why you prefer WS-MAN over SNMP or WMI?

Not sure I can answer that question accurately, but I do know that a bunch of newer products we are bringing in support WS-MAN. And I've personally never cared for WMI for use as (part of) an enterprise monitoring tool. I think the overhead is just to high.
