Is there any way to calculate two custom fields together in a Service Catalog Item?

Good morning!

I am trying to generate a purchase request form from the service catalog with a quantity and price. I have a custom field called Grand Total that I would like to have it be calculated automatically using the quantity x price. I have multiple lines for quantity and price so the idea would be to have something like this: Grand Total = item 1 quantity x item 1 price + item 2 quantity x item 2 price ... etc. Is this possible to do with automation processes or with any other method?

Hi @eccol , this is currently not possible in service catalog. Right now, the only place that supports calculations like this is our purchase order module. 

A little brainstorming here: You could have a script that does the calculations outside of SolarWinds Service Desk and then updates the Grand Total field. This would happen post submission and would be delayed based on the amount of time you schedule the script to "look" and see if there are any new calculations to be performed. You could also use a process integration in the service catalog to call out to another service (your script), have it do the calculations and then send back the results. 

We've heard this request before when it comes to service catalog items and the ability to do line items and calculations based on those line items.
