It would be great if default for agent monitoring was ICMP instead of Agent for response time. This is real annoying due to large amounts of false down devices we get when it responds normally via ping. All polling method should default to ICMP ping for response time with the option to choose something else.
I recently demoed a product from another network management company that provides historical graphs of response time (as Solar Winds does) but breaks it out into network time, DNS time, server time, application time, client time, and SSL response time. I'd l'd like to see SolarWinds do something similar, either integrated…
We upgraded from SAM 6.2.2 to SAM 6.3.3 on the weekend -- part of our NPM, SAM, NTA and SRM upgrade. We discovered that bunch of URLs suddenly jumped from a 'normal' response time to excessive response times. It isn't just this single URL but multiple URLs. Our URL monitors are actually assigned to an external node that we…
Hi Community, We have a problem about Response Times graphs for some nodes on NPM. Our Problem is we have high response time values for some devices on solarwinds. We think this response time vaues are wrong values. When we change polling engine for that node, response time goes to normal values for this devices. What is…
Hi All, I am just wondering on how I can interpret the data being shown in solarwinds -- in SAM to be specific. For example, I can see that HTTP and SSL have high application response time. Basically, how do I know what causes this high app response time? Forgive my ignorance, but I still don't have a very clear idea about…
I am curios what other users are seeing for DHCP User Experience Monitor for Windows response time. I am seeing anywhere between 35ms & 85ms. That seems very high. The DHCP and SAM are on the same subnet in the same physical data center.
Here is the TLDR; for this article. We noticed that the TTFB via the QoE HTTP monitor (you're using DPI via QoE, right? It's free now -- you really should.) spikes up. At the same time we see a corresponding spike in data volume. I need some advice on tracking down the source of the increased volume. Help me Thwack, you…
Looking to know how the response times for HTTPS specifically are measured. Is it measured as [started] when the socket is fully open, [ended or marked] when the first string of the header comes back, when the closing </body> in the HTML is detected, etc? These different metrics would lead to significantly different…
