I have a critical interface, which is administratively up, and operationally down (normal state for span port monitoring). I need to create an alert to trap if the output rate (bits/sec) drops below a certain threshold. Here is sample of the interface to demonstrate that despite line protocol (operationally) down -…
Hey guys, We have 13 Fortigate firewalls of various flavors and versions of code, all are working fine in NPM except one.I read in the help section of Solarwinds on how to assign a different poller -- Assign Pollers ‑ Interfaces -- but am not able to see any alternate universal device pollers. The Fortigate with the issue…
I have interfaces that keep showing up as 2100% utilization and the custom bandwidth box is not checked. What could be causing it to report such an impossible number?
Hello... We have discovered we have a number of interfaces on a number of our nodes being monitored by Orion NPM (V10.0 SP1) that are not providing correct utilization information. It turns out that the issue is that the nodes are being polled for 32-bit counters rather than 64-bit counters. There are a number of Thwack…
Is there a way to get solarwinds NPM to show the connection speed of my interfaces?
Has anyone else been able to monitor any sub-interfaces on Juniper Netscreen products? I've setup a UDP but that doesn't offer the results we're looking for, not to mention the fact that I have 450 of these to monitor. I'm curious whether I'm the only one having this problem, or if this is known limitation with the product.
Hi, I'm new to NPM so be kind to my tender soul when slamming me for putting up a silly post. Q1. In NPMv10.1 is there a way to permanently put an interface/s in an unmanaged state. Currently when trying to unmanage an interface/s it asks for a "Unmanage this device until" details (screen capture 1). I want to be able to…
We have over 50 Ceragon 1500P point-to-point microwave radio systems. The MIBs for these have been sent off to Solar Winds, and all-in-all we are pretty happy with them. When monitoring the devices in NPM, all of the interfaces are discovered (see below), but there is no traffic showing on the interface (see further…
I have a limited number of interfaces that can be monitored by Orion on our license. If I am monitoring a server interface and the same server's CPU utilization, does that count as 2 against the license? I know it's a newbie question, but thanks. Dave
I have Cisco 6500 series switches with GigE interface blades. Some of the interfaces are capped at 10 Mbps. The Avg Min/Max/Average bps In/Out Charts will sometimes show Max IN and/or Max OUT spikes that exceed 10Mbps. How is it possible that traffic is exceeding the forced 10Mbps? I’ve pulled raw traffic metrics from…
