Hi Anc - it's ok if you can't raise a support ticket - it looks like we need to update or create a new script - so that's really a feature request. I can go ahead and enter that and we'll work to get it done in the next release or so (but as always, we can't make any promises as to exactly what release). --Christine

Jerry - did you open a support ticket on this? We need to get you up and running! -C

Hi LLs71 - you were the only customer we had working with the script, so we decided to hold off releasing it in the formal release until we had more testing and feedback. We only have so many QA hours, so we had to focus those on some scripts that were more in mainstream demand. If anyone else works with the script, please…

Hi Vern - I would suggest opening up a support ticket on this one as we're going to need to see the log/support files. Thanks so much!

Perfect - thank you! --Christine

Hi Questionario - the inventory reports improvements are mainly around the web UI and performance. We didn't actually add any new reports in this RC. We do have a Cisco inventory report with serial numbers in the product though - what were you needing in the report that you sent? There's no intentional syncing between APM…

Ok Smartd - It took me a little time but I have answers - comments to all your questions. 1. The issue with feedback on whether a script worked or not is that we don't know what kind of error message the device might return. That being said, I'm tracking this as a feature request for scripts in general, and I will here as…

Hi Brent - we are working on the mac forwarding table bug now. For the end points report - that is something that is part of a larger issue and I can't say that it will be part of the next release. We've had a lot of feedback on this feature and it is high priority to fix. We want to make sure that when we do, we get it…

It's a pretty extensive list, so honestly, I don't think they will all make it into the next major release. We have a number of items on the road map right now, so please do chime in with your preferences on prioritization or any other features you think should be on the list. Once we have 6.0 out the door we'll begin…

Hi Chito - thank you so much! Yes, if you could open a case, I will tell support to expect it and they have a special system to make it very easy to upload files. Thank you for your help! --Christine

If you are on current maintenance, the RC will be in your portal. The RC provides the ability to import and export policy reports, so you could achieve this by exporting, renaming, making changes, and importing it back in. --Christine

Thanks Simon - and thanks for the heads up about the Windows Scheduled Tasks! --Christine

Thanks Steve. I'm tracking both of these as feature requests. I have both of them in the system already - so I've incremented them with all the comments from this thread. --Christine

Here's a KB on it - http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1862/How+do+I+display+an+embedded+Web+page+into+Orion%3F It works the same way for NCM. This resource allows you to show an html page as a resource in your Orion application. You can show an image too. Again, this may not be what you have in mind, but it…

Absolutely. I will provision you asap. Right now we're doing a smallish first wave, but if anyone else on this thread would like to get in on the first wave please let me know. --Christine

An update to this thread. The comments and information here refer to APM 1.0, and are now out of date. For more information on current features and functionality of APM - please visit the webpages here, or talk to your sales rep.

Thanks Rick - we will reach out to you all when we begin working on this. --Christine

Hi everyone - your interest is duly noted. Keep giving me use cases as you have them, and I'll keep this in the list of requested enhancements. --C
-
Hi Bob - I totally understand where you are coming from, and believe me, this is a very high priority feature. As a PM, I also don't like it when we can't add everything we want to a release! That being said, we are already working on mockups of what the functionality will look like, and I'll be sure to contact you when we…

Understood. If you have time to open a support ticket we can do some dev research on it. They are probably going to ask you for diagnostics and that way we can track it and get you an answer. --Christine

Darrlyd - could you please open a support ticket so we can track this issue? --Christine

Hi Everyone - here's another thread where there is a prioritization of features to be ported to the Web UI. --C

Right, you can maintain a set of snippits but not online - the web UI just looks on the current hard drive (default is to My Documents).

One caveat on the R2 support. If you are running the standalone version of NCM, this KB may apply to you. Basically, you need to ensure IIS is running as a network service and not the application pool user. The error you might see is: 'keyset does not exist.' --Christine
-
Hi John - you can download the RC and try it out if you like. There isn't official AD integration, but the log in is greatly improved. Let me know what you think? --Christine
-
Ivarth - sounds good. Let me know if that doesn't fix it!
-
I hope to get it in one of the next releases - but we're not allowed to talk about dates or which release. All I can say is "high priority." Sorry about that. Denny wrote a blog about these restrictions recently - which sort of explains the constraints.

Hi Vineeth: CatTools is an entry level product, and just doesn't have all the functionality - reporting and otherwise - that NCM has. NCM is meant for more complex networks and more complicated use cases, while CatTools offers very solid, basic functionality. I hope that helps. --C

Bryan - and others on this thread/or with opinions on this... if we were to develop this feature and make syncing automatic: 1. would you want to automatically sync all maps? or just designated maps? 2. how often would you want the syncing to take place? (just in general, ie, daily, weekly, monthly, on demand). 3. do you…
