I believe you can ramp up security via IIS.
-
How about the "rlCopyTable" OID? It might be Dell specific.
-
How about the ability to turn ports on/off from Orion without the need for the Toolset?
-
Thanks aLTeReGo...that is some helpful information.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but... Just create you top level map. Now, create a sub-map. Then, drag the sub-map onto the top level map.
-
Well...my problem turned out to be McAfee VirusScan Enterprise. Someone changed my policy so port 25 was being blocked.
-
That's funny. I haven't upgraded to v8 yet and my alerts just stopped working. I just submitted a trouble ticket but I'm sure they'll want me to run through the configuration wizard.
-
Thanks guys. I'll give the suggestions a shot.
-
I could only wish they would support MySQL.

Callmanager & Unity servers running on Windows 2000 server?
-
I couldn't agree more with BryanBecker. A notice that the price was going to go up would have been nice. This actually might push us away from SolarWinds (it's not my decision). I would love to keep using Orion but the people above me are not happy with the price increase and have started looking at other software.

What IOS is it running? Also, download Net-SNMP if you don't have it installed already and manually get the OID that gives uptime (it's in ticks I believe). Does it look like it's starting back at 0 every time you do a walk? C:\x>snmpget -v 2c -c public 10.122.154.100 sysUpTime.sysUpTimeInstance…
-
Is it really rebooting, can you confirm this? It is possible that the snmp daemon/service is restarting and not the actual hardware.
-
eh? Your text is missing.
-
I've been importing from our Orion Database (which I love). Are there any plans to add a syncronize feature to Cirrus? We occasionally Unmanage or Delete nodes out of Orion and having the ability to Sync Cirrus with the datase would be nice.
-
Right-click My Computer & choose Manage. Expand Services and Applications. Do you see 'SNMP Service'? If so you have snmp installed so just double-click it and it should open the properties. Check the security tab settings.
-
Have you setup the community string on the 2003 server? Did you allow the ip address of the Orion server?
-
Try upgrading .NET to 2 or 3.
-
I stand corrected... www4.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp
-
I second the CISCO qos MIBS. It's a must have for us.
-
Why not just forward your logs to your syslog server?
-
Do you know what the OIDs are for the switch's MAC address table?
-
What type of switches are you using? You could get the MAC address connected to each port and do a lookup that way.
-
VMware on 2003 Standard here as well with no issues.
-
The few times that I tried to shutdown/stop the service it took to long so I just killed the process manually. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes though (yes...I'm impatient).
-
The first thing I would try is editing the batch file and remove the 'composite' line. Once you've done that run the batch file and see if it updates the image in the directory. Try it a few times and make sure it's updating (look at the Date Modified field in details view). Let me know if it updates properly.

FYI - Looks like 8.1 is going into external beta testing soon.
-
Thanks John...I guess that's what I'll do.

What version of net-snmp are you running?
