If you upgrade to version 8.0 or higher, I believe the source-code isn't encoded.

Run through the configuration wizard again (only the database part should be required actually). During the wizard you should be able to create a new database. [updated] Actually...this would wipe all your nodes...etc. from the database. The only other thing I could think of is to write a script to empty all the tables and…

What are the nodes in question, Windows server, switches, routers....?

Did you say "custom MIBs"? I would absolutely love that.

What kind of switch is it?

If you backed up your database then why not just wipe the OS and reinstall? I know that's not a good solution but it might be easier in the long run. Or...run VMware or another virtualization package and install the software and see how that goes.

Straight from the mouth of the vole.... technet2.microsoft.com/.../2a4711d6-2e0a-48a0-b4c4-d03c1b43c6901033.mspxquote: SNMP Background Developed in 1988 to provide network-device-monitoring capability for TCP/IP-based networks, SNMP was approved as an Internet standard in 1990 by the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and…

I don't know if this is relevant forums.microsoft.com/.../ShowPost.aspx Are you sure that Microsoft Windows supports SNMPv3?

Very nice.

You probably have a program that is running on port 69. Are you running Cirrus or any other program that monitors routers etc.?

Contact Solarwinds customer support and let them know what device you're trying to add. They're usually pretty good with adding the MIBs quickly.

I don't back up my SQL Database (non-MSDE) via Veritas. Our DBA backs it up via SQL and dumps it to a different server that is backedup regularly. What database tools should I be running against the database on a nightly basis?

I was waiting for the bugs to be worked out but I upgraded because I was having issues with my polling engine stopping. I guess I was taxing it to much because upgrading to v8 didn't make a difference. I'm pretty happy with v8 actually. They need to work on the MIB poller some more but it's pretty nice.

I would upgrade then move the database. Once the database is moved, simply run the configuration wizard again and point it to the new location of the database.

Nevermind...I'll just use Imagemagick to do what I need.

I beta tested v1 & v2 of Cirrus with our Dell switches and Cirrus v1 didn't work. After I gave Solarwinds access to our switches they got Cirrus v2 working flawlessly with our Dell PowerConnect switches. Have you given a developer from Solarwinds access to any of your switches for testing?

Have you tried Cacti or Ntop for monitoring QoS queues? You can get Cacti to run on Windows easy enough.
