What do you mean by "Google" using Authentication or LDAP Sync?
If you use G-Mail then there should be no difference but Google have switched off IMAP for less secure applications so you might be forced to go to their Modern OAUTH Mailbox connector.
I think you may be seeing what I am seeing with the "no email notifs" on new ticket creation.
We are about a week out from the upgrade but want to make sure no gotchas.
I thought I had read something about gmail issues but can't find it now, so

If you are using G-Mail as your E-Mail provider then they have/are stopping connections via IMAP and will be forced to use Modern Auth OAUTH instead. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en
The requirements for this have not changed between WHD12.7.7 and WHD12.7.9 so if it currently works a WHD upgrade should not be stopped because of this.

You might want to hold off from this, we have been made aware of an issue if using the same Google Mail/G-Suite Mail account which was previously used with the less secure IMAP method - basically Inbound doesn't work.
