I use the Real-Time Bandwidth monitor and love it, but on some interfaces, it gives me pretty ugly graphs. Below, for instance, is the port on my Palo Alto that has my internet link. Currently the traffic is in the grey area. So, why does it have the continuous data points at zero, followed by a huge spike, then either two…
Since there doesn't seem to be a real-time monitor in NPM on Orion, I use the free real-time bandwidth monitor to watch my ISP connections as well as the firewall output to see my total internet usage. Below is what we are used to seeing - constant up and down instead of a more smooth line. This instance is polling a port…
Is there a way to add the Real-Time Process Explorer "button" to a node details page for a server that doesn't have any apps/components assigned to it? In our environment not all of our servers have specific monitors assigned. It seems like an oversight that this resource can't be added by itself..
I had a site where I was observing well over 100% utilization for received percent utilization. Can someone help me understand why this would be, as far as perfstack goes? I swear I must be missing something here unless we literally are trying to shove 5x the bandwidth down our pipe vs what is available - but this should…
Orion and the modules which run atop the platform provide a tremendous wealth of statistical information at your fingertips for spotting trends and hotspots. That data collected is also helpful for determining if what you're seeing now is anomalous, or normal consistent behavior based upon historical analysis.…
Hello I've been tasked to integrate Orion and PubNub for real-time data streaming. I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea. Maybe start with the Orion SDK. Have you successfully integrated Orion and PubNub? Looking for suggestions and resources. Thanks, Charlie
Just recently updated SAM to 6.4. I'm no longer seeing the Real-Time Process Explorer on my Linux Agent Nodes. I see the new Performance Analyzer but no Real-Time Process Explorer. Does this still exist? Thank you
Hi, What has happened to the RTCD setup in NCM v7? It seems like a lot has changed and none of the changes have been documented or reflected in the administrator guide. Use of the rtnforwarder.exe for Syslogs seems to have been made redundant, and the Configure Real-Time detection page in the NCM web console doesn't…
Riding on the heels of todays announcement I’m excited to announce the Release Candidate availability of Server & Application Monitor v5.0. For those of you who may not as yet heard, Application Performance Monitor (APM) has been officially renamed Server & Application Monitor (SAM) to reflect new product features and…
Is there anything in Solarwinds products to give a real-time (moving needle/speedometer-type effect) for a server's CPU utilization (including multiple CPUs)? We don't like using the Windows Task Manager CPU monitor, so we are looking for something else.
