Web Helpdesk Asset Management description of pc

We are new to the web helpdesk and are in the beginning stages of implementation. We noticed when we use WHD Discovery Engine to collect our assets we are not getting the description field of the PC. Is there a way to add this field so that when it does an asset discovery it will pull the description field of the machine?

Hello,

Sounds like you need to map the appropriate field from the discovery, if you go to the asset discovery connection you should see another tab for Attribute Mapping, edit this and map the attribute to the corresponding field.

Is there a way to add custom attributes to search for, when polling? I looked under the Attribute Mapping but I didn't see a "Description" per say. I did however add a asset custom fields, is there a way to include that under the attribute mapping?

I am also trying to refelct the attributes from network switches, such as serial number Last Boot time etc.. Please guide.

I would use something like LanSweeper to collect this information, and then point WHD to your LanSweeper server and sync the data collected.
