Avaya Phone Bandwidth Ulitization

Guys,

I've been asked to create a report that shows the amount of bandwidth our Avaya Phones / System is using for each of our site per hour.

We are currently running the following

Avaya G700 gateways at remote sites,

Avaya S8730's at the two main sites

Cisco Routers and Switches configured with netflow and QOS

Ok, here are the questions:

1.  Can such a report be produced?

2. how do i go about monitoring the traffic?

 

SNMP is setup on the phone systems with snmp enabled in the onboard firewalls.  Am unable to add the nodes as yet but will work on that.

We are running SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor v9.5.1 with the IP SLA module, Netflow Analyzer.

Any Help / guidance would be greatly received.  Have opened a ticket with Solarwinds suport with regards this as well.  Waiting to hear back.

Netflow Traffic Analyzer is going to be the module you should use to monitor bandwidth utilization for devices that support sFlow, J-Flow, IPFIX, or Netflow.

You will use IP SLA Manager to create synthetic transactions or operations between Cisco devices that will help you assess things like round trip time and latency between those devices.  IP SLA is a Cisco specific technology that is part of the Cisco IOS.  You won't be able to create operations between Avaya devices (again, IP SLA is a Cisco technology), but you can monitor the network links between sites if your Avaya system is connected to a Cisco edge router or Voice Gateway that supports IP SLA.
