It appears that machine lifecycles aren't updating consistently.
EX:
I purchase our firm’s computers through CDW, where the Discovery Agent is installed as part of our standard image. After installation, the warranty upgrades we purchase typically take a day or two to appear, so new devices initially show the default one‑year warranty in Service Desk.
SolarWinds support has advised that the Discovery Agent runs every 24 hours, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. I’ve checked several machines that have reported into Microsoft Intune consistently over the past few days, which leads me to believe the Discovery Agent service is not restarting or running as expected.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Support gave me 2 options:
- Manually restart the service on each machine. - Not an option as there are too many machines with the issue.
- Create a Group Policy to trigger the service to run at a specified interval.
