I have a dream for Solarwinds Service Desk. A dream where the tireless architect of documentation does not live in fear of the "Save" button.
In the grand cathedral of IT Service Management, we are told that Knowledge is Power. We are told that our Knowledge Base is the "Single Source of Truth." Yet, in many of our most "serious" systems, that truth is as fragile as glass. One errant keystroke, one misguided bulk update, or one overzealous editor can shatter years of institutional wisdom, leaving behind nothing but the jagged shards of a corrupted procedure.
We need Previous Versions or automatic backups of Solutions items!
We can no longer settle for "good enough." We cannot build the future of IT on shifting sands. A serious ITSM system without automatic backups of article versions is a library without a history, a map that erases itself as you walk.
Let us rise up and demand the right to remember. Let us insist on systems that protect our wisdom, forgive our errors, and preserve our legacy for the generations of technicians yet to come.
