Custom Form field to get dropdown of all assets

Is there a field that will show a dropdown of all assets so one can be picked?

Here is my scenario:

We have 2 service desk providers:
- IT service desk
- Security Service desk

I want to create a form that the helpdesk staff that use the IT service desk can fill in on the security service desk when a laptop is stolen or lost.
I want them to be able to choose fields such as user, device, date, crime number, and submit so that the security service desk can then review.

So far I can only see a global User dropdown but not an asset list one.

Hello,

I have the same need and i don't think it's possible out of API unfortunately, as far as i know you need to run it from a server to get the data and push it back to SW.

I don't believe there is a way to do that but what you could do is, on the Service portal, make "Related Assets" visible. This way, on the form/ticket, the IT service desk can easily add the assets and it provides a search field with check boxes for all current assets. These will then be attached to the form/ticket in the Related tab once it is submitted. See below.

I am in agreement and think it would be helpful to have this option as a custom field for service request on the front end of the ticket instead of hidden in "Related". It would be nice to have this in an additional location.
