Unable to start SolarWinds Information services

Hi Thwackers

We are unable to start the SolarWinds Information Services on our APE , There is no option to individually repair said service and I guess we have uninstall and re-install the whole thing.

So, i tried to start the service from his local .exe and got this error. Any ideas how to proceed?

Have you tried to repair Solarwinds Platform from Control Panel?

Log a support case or redeploy the APE. Found this forum Solarwinds information service v3 stopped but I don't see an installer in C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers for SWIS on our APE.

we logged a case and were told to uninstall and re-install after extensive troubleshooting. . Will check the forum.

Maybe a stupid query - did you try deleting the log files while you were trouble shooting? Delete log files (InformationServiceV3.log,InformationServiceV3.log.1,InformationServiceV3.log.2,InformationServiceV3.log.3,InformationServiceV3.log.4 and InformationServiceV3.log.5). And place a blank file with that name InformationServiceV3.log

Stop all services before you do that and then try to restart them.

As well I am sure you would have stopped any sort of antivirus on this VM or Server.

Plus as well disable Windows Defender and Firewall as part of testing, if Info service comes back up you can later enable these things on your box. Probably you should also create an exclude rule on it to exclude anything in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds
