Solarwinds information service v3 stopped

We have upgraded to NPM 12 few months ago. Now we are facing so many problems after upgrade. Sometimes maps are loading giving rendering resource error message, slowness in console, alerts are not displaying in console.

We tried to restart our services but one of the solar winds information services v3 still showing stopped. This happen second time. Earlier because of CPU load this issue occur and then with the help of solar winds support team we diagnosed and increased cpu resources. But again this issue occur but this time cpu load is normal. We have rebooted our main orion server which leads to start the service again.

But I think this is just temporary action that we took. We want to know why this is occurring again and again?

From time to time I have issues with the SWISv3 and SWJEv2 services. They can be very temperamental at times. Most of the time I will start/stop services to resolve, then I will do a reboot of the system clear the issue.

I've just completed the upgrade to NPM 12.1 (from 11.0.1) and from 12.0.1 I started getting memory issues every morning around 8:30am. Memory utilisation would spike up to 30Gb (usually around 9Gb) and the system would become unresponsive. It was Solarwinds Information Service V3 that was using all the memory. I'd been looking at the issue for a few weeks with Solarwinds until someone (internal) contacted me to say they run a script every morning at 8am and for some weeks now it's not worked anymore. Low and behold, he runs the script there and then, and I can see memory utilisation go up and up. The script was trying to pull stuff out of IPAM. They're now looking at rewritting the script.

I don't know how you can see if anyone is accessing the database externally but I thought I'd mention it.

Ive had this happen a few times before. Its a corrupted service. The fix involves going into add and remove programs. Uninstall the information services program. Then reinstalling it from the individual installers thats hidden in the file system. I dont remember where it is, but if you open a ticket they can show you where it is located.

Fixed me right up when I did.
