Should not be any problems- the latest version is 9.2-

What else do you have installed on that box? Are you trying this with the 8.5 beta? I've looked into the dependencies for that OrionReportView8.ocx file. The two likely culprits are vsflex8.ocx and vsflex8L.ocx.Those two should be installed in the Orion install directory. If they’re there, make sure that those files are…

Yes- we are Test Tracking this one. Thanks for the feedback.

sorry to disappoint but reinstalling does resolve many issues -but of course some problems require further troubleshooting- Have you opened a particular case that can be referenced for discussion?

You might look at the DEP settings. On My Computer->Properties->performance->settings check the DEP tab. Make sure to turn on DEP for essential Windows Programs and Services only- You will have to restart after applying.

I forgot to ask if this was a Direct Link acct? There are several workarounds you can try: 1. Disable/Delete your Direct Link account 2. Change IP to localhost or 127.0.0.1 to not pass the login page 3. Correct the database and manually set HomePageViewID as 1 or another one

Have you downloaded the New WEF released last week? Also you may try an Add/Remove -> Change -> Repair to see if that helps.

Any idea when Orion 9 will be coming out? I'm having the same problem with memory and CPU utilization with our F5 devices.

Thanks, regarding the hanging of NetFlowDatabaseScheme.dbConfig file - Would it be possible to run a SQL Profiler alongside the Configuration Wizard performing the database upgrade scripts, so we can get T-SQL statements and determine how long they take to execute and attach them to that ticket?
-
I am having the same issue with "- Processing NetFlowDatabaseScheme.dbConfig file ...." My DB is about 10.5GB If possible could you please open a ticket regrading this issue and submit some diagnostics so that engineering can get a closer look into what the root cause may be. The Diagnostics Utility can be found in…

Well it sounds like one of two possibilities: The SQL Server is responding slowly and can't write the report query fast enough. Check the event logs of both the Orion and SQL Servers and see if there are any events such as "Main Task Data Reader" or "Connection Timeout". Also watch the CPU utilization on the servers when…

The next step for you would be to truncate this table. In order to truncate this table please go to your DB Manager from the Orion application. Be sure to run a backup and stop your polling services for this to take affect. From here find the SQL Server on the left pane then drop down the tree until you find your DB…

I looked into getting updates regarding those cases and the technician for 49810 is out sick today and the 49582 issue is test tracked, which means development is still seeking possible causes/resolutions. We'll see if someone from support can reach out to you today.

There is a hotifix for this- ftp.solarwinds.net/.../Orion8.1Hotfixes.zip You will have to paste this URL into your browser-

hanz- What this is referring to is that there are interfaces in the Interfaces table of the database that are associated with a NodeID that no longer exists. To correct this you need to stop all the SolarWinds services, query the interfaces table and delete any entries tied to that NodeID. Afterwards restart the services.…

ok, so now that I have done this part, I have sent a ticket to add Audiocodes MIB tables but where do I send the MIB database? You have me confused. You should have submitted them all attached to the support ticket so they can be compiled into the next MIB database update. Here is an excellent tutorial that explains how to…

i've learned that the tcp dump: Control station root password needs to be the root user's password and is required if you're using tcp dump or not.

So you are wishing to remove the black in the left column?
-
You will first have to upgrade to 7.8.5 and then upgrade to 8.5- Here are the Release Notes for 8.5 - www.solarwinds.com/.../releaseNotes.htm
-
After migrating the Orion installation to the new server - did you Run the Configuration Wizard and specify the existing (or newly restored) database on the Database setup section of the wizard? When prompted, click Yes to use the existing database.

Sounds like you need to look at ipMonitor- www.solarwinds.com/.../comparison.aspx or read Miercom's lab report www.solarwinds.com/.../Miercom_Report_ ipMonitor_WhatsUp_Gold_Comparison.pdf
