  • I uploaded the MIBs for the APCs in the content sharing area already. That should have the top 12 maps I don't believe anything beyond the first 12 are used. I assume if you load the mib I made is should give you the enumerations I created as well for all 12.
  • I have the exact same problem. It's not just you.
  •  Does this hotfix correct machines that become unmanaged still showing up in alerts?
  • Someone recently emailed me and asked me how to import these MIBs so I thought perhaps other new users would like to have that information and here is a good place for that. 1) Open up System Manager 2) Select "Custom MIB Pollers..." under the "File" menu 3) click Import. A dialog will pop up asking where the file you want…
  • Yes it's called directlink it's in the admin guide. I came across it recently.
  • I would also like to make a request for those features listed in the first post. Especailly line utilization where the admin could set the thresholds.
  • Changing color based on predefined utilization levels would be a great feature.
  • Also I have all the APC MIBS mapped out in my test server of orion. That's one of the reasons I'm so anoyed with not being able to export them. If I could have exported them and posted them here you could have just imported t hem and saved you self hours of work. I have them for the Smart UPS and the switched and metered…
  • That's interesting becasue my temp oid is 1.3.6.1.1.318.1.1.10.2.3.2.1.4 and it's working fine. it's also emStatusProbeCurrentTemp I'm monitoring the environmental probe off of an APC network management card with environmental. Humidity is oid 1.3.6.1.1.318.1.1.10.2.3.2.1.6 you don't need a get request for these you can…
  • I think it would be very helpful for those people who haven't moved to 8 or are new users to be able to download the custom mibs of people like myself who've created extensive custom mib databases (mine is over 200mibs now) and be able to import them.
  • I have the 7.2 beta and it works great. You need to install the net-snmp and use that but if you do you get ALOT more information that you did before with just the interface. You get memory, cpu, volume, swap, etc. I've been running 7.2 for two days and it works great on my Sun and HP-UX machines I haven't had a chance to…
  • I'd like to know that also.
  • My understanding is that the problem is because Orion is calling depreciated resounces in net-snmp. resources that have been depreciated for a long time and Orion hasn't switched to the new ones. As I understand it these resources where listed as being depreciated before orion even started using them. If I"m wrong I'd love…
  •  You could just write a script to do what you want.
  • set the interface stats to unknow and you'll know when snmp stops working however you may get some false positives if people do work on i nterfaces like swaping them out.
  • I had similar issues with the beta and with the early versions of 8 when I had a lot of mibs (200+) I think it didn't scale well initially it's possible with that many nodes that perhaps it still doesn't scale all that well. I know they worked pretty hard to get me fixed so that it scaled to meet my needs. I think you…
  • Ditto every other newer version I tried doesn't work. I beleive it has to do with the fact that solar winds querys off a depreciated item in 5.0.9 that was removed after that version. I've gotten nothing for answers when I've asked about their support for an updated version and I've always assumed that since V8 is supposed…
  • yes you need to look at it thought the webpage. Which means you need to modify some views and add some custom poller charts and tables. the custom poller status is probably the most helpful one to add first as it will list each of your custom pollers and what their value is in a basic table form.
  • Actually there are a couple of tips I'd like to share to make the custom mib poller tool a bit less painful. I've noticed it's much slower if you have a lot of nodes in your system manager. If you're setting up a new system try setting up your custom mibs early in the process before doing a full discovery and adding all…
  • Martin If I recall correctly I needed to be able to establish a basic snmp connection to the host resources mib in the system manager before I could see a device in the custom mib poller. I think you need to monitor something in the list resources area before you can see them in custome mib poller area. Also as far as you…
  • if the printers support snmp and the host resources mib which they probably do than just stetting up snmp on the printers will let you monitor netowrk traffic. if they also support traps you could use those to report to the trap server that's currently in beta on the downloads page to monitor more detailed information like…
  • This in my opinion is one of the most anoying things about this product. you have use 5.0.9 if you upgrade the net-snmp version it won't work right and I've seen it drive my snmp process cpu utilization through the roof. Well I have alot of flavors of unix and finding the 5.0.9 src is not so easy anymore. And for some…
  • I had 7.0.5 Eval, installed 7.1 over it , then fouund out about features in 7.2 beta and installed that over 7.1 and had no problems.
  • I did the exact same thing you described and did not have this problem.
  • Yes I've got two of them the 320 and the 320E I'm monitoring them with Custom mibs no problem and have Alerts that I know work based on Temperature.
  • Actually I"m getting very bad cpu utilization number some upwards of 1750%
  • I did for me on my HP-UX machines. But the net-snmp install is easy and source forge even has binaries if you don't know how to compile it yourself.
  • Exactly which MIB are you asking about? What's the OID? I've got a lot of APC MIBs being monitored.

  •  Well I can't speak directly to your question since I don't have a Foundry router but if they are virtual interfaces do they have a Max interface speed? I know when I track virtual interfaces such as vpn they don't have a set max other than the total bandwidth of the interface so they don't display that. You may be able to…
  • I asume you've seen the sticky about the patch?
