What OS is this? we had similar issues with certain unix versions. If it's unix make sure you're using 5.0.9 and you won't have so many problems. With that said it would be nice if we could use the newer versios sometime soon. perhaps with the fantom version 8?

Currently no you can check to see if the sqlserver process is up and running and monitor that but not if the port is open. This is a request alot of people have asked for.

I would still like to know if Solarwinds is going to include support for a newer version of net-snmp. Unix support doesn't feel like a priority. And I'd really like some sort of disk activiry monitoring at least in windows to start. Since we're now all waiting probably another year for V8 could we squeeze these things in?

Go to sourceforge.net and get net-snmp Thats what you need for HP-UX I have it running on my HP-UX boxes. If you don't have much experience i think they may even have precompiled binaries for HPUX there as well as the source. The documentation there should give you the information you need to config it.

To get those instances you probably need to use the "get" not the "get next" if you have the same issue I do you'll see that you get a successfull return value when you test it but no data when you actually try to use it. My understanding is that this is being worked on.
