  • If the option were on a per-account basis, then I would leave it enabled for administrators. Users who are constrained to a single node or a small group of interfaces doesn't need to see the breadcrumbs at all. They're a distraction and, as you said, a waste of space.
  • Chris - Email sent. Thank you. I average ~10,000 flows per second among my borders, and tend to see peaks around ~50,000. I can easily imagine it spiking up to around 60,000 at times. ET - Our SQL database software (DB and OS) were just upgraded based on suggestions from SW staff. I hope it's not that. We are monitoring…
  • I would love to be able to get on a web conference with ya'll sometime soon and chat about this further, so we can learn and see exactly the problems and then work on those. Let me know if this is something you are open to. Absolutely. Web or phone, or if you're in town, I'm game.
  • I hate to resurrect an old thread like this, but the topic of alert suppression has come up recently (and rather emphatically) based on parent/child node relationships. Do we have anything more current on when we can expect the next-next version? I'd like to avoid having to maintain multiple pieces of software/hardware for…
  • So here's an interesting oddity. First, I re-enabled that option and I haven't crashed yet, and memory seems to be getting released regularly. I'm crossing my fingers. Second, my problem has always been that, in perfmon, tracking v5 flows received per second and raw packet queue length, eventually the number of flows would…
  • I could try that, but since the sites are load balanced, I can't guarantee I'll be attached to any particular machine. That's why I tried the bare \username option.
  • So basically, if the hardware is supported, it has the correct templates built in.
  •  Will the Orion web integration require Orion and Cirrus to be installed on the same server? Thanks, Justin
  • I disagree with your statement that we are not focused on usability there. That's not what I said. I (poorly) stated that someone there made the decision that the advantages outweighed the disadvantages of moving to a web-based application. Until the way we deliver web content changes, one of the biggest disadvantages of a…
  • by its very nature, it's a less usable interface overall. Can you elaborate? Other than speed (which as Brandon said, we've addressed in SP4), what's less usable? I want to stress that by "usability", I don't mean functionality. I mean usability from the UI point of view. "...it's a less usable interface overall" is in…
  • I don't know what to say. You've put me in a position where, given my constraints, I can't buy your product even if I wanted to, or even try the current version. Suffice it to say, after having to justify a 7 1/2 hour downtime a week ago because of my upgrade to 9.5.1, I'm not going to get anyone to sign off on another…
  • I've been informed that user@domain is incorrect. The username is simply in an email address type format. There is no domain, as near as I can tell. Edit: Not sure what is meant by marking this an answer. I was simply clarifying that there was no domain involved. I still can't authenticate.
  • Hm. Well, I guess I don't understand, based on the Cisco information about templates, what you meant by that statement. Template configuration seems to be about how often the templates are sent from the router to the collector(s). What am I missing?
  • Thanks for the response. I'm on a two CPU machine with 4 GB of RAM. I guess I'll wait for a response to my open ticket. Support has had my diagnostics for almost a week now. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Edit: I don't think we're raiding our SQL. I'll have to ask my db admin what he did with those machines.
  • No problem. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something.
  • I would like to re-iterate how critical being able to search all the fields on sub/supernets is to us. We can't get rid of our old spread sheets until we can reliably find a subnet based on customer names, locations, etc...
  • For me, no. I'm not really into the whole "exam cram" style of testing. Given that retention is something like 25% or less, it wouldn't do me much good beyond having pretty pretty alphabet soup. To really retain the material, you either have to use it, or the class would have to be much longer than a couple of days. On the…
  • Hi Denny and team, My use of the system manager for node management is mostly just to add/remove nodes/interfaces. Even with the latest Firefox, it's almost faster to log on to the server with RDP, open System Manager, find the node I need, right click and "List Resources" than it is to simply check a box and "List…
  •  Thanks. That worked great. I appreciate the response.
  •  Just to be clear, we support Firefox 3, IE 6, and IE 7. We don't test against or support seamonkey or Opera. Nothing against those browsers, but part of how we keep the product affordable is by limiting support of various platforms to the most common versions. I understand. I was just trying to get more info on the…
  • Hi Lorenzo, I opened case 262859. Thank you.
  • Any news on Windows 7 support?
  • Hi Jason/Martin, I'll grab my UA and try it later. If it works, I'll let you know.
  • Hi Denny. Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. It seemed to me more as if it were updating a 3rd party app (SQL Server, IIS, etc..) than a part of the software.
  •  I have had this issue for some time, but SP4 made it worse. Tech support has had my diagnostics for a month, but I haven't heard anything since then.
  • I am also interested.

  • Note: When using NetFlow version 9 you must configure the template to include all fields utilized by NetFlow version 5. Can you clarify or point me towards a resource to understand what you're talking about here?
  • Not particularly. Part of the delay was reconfiguring our entire SQL back end based on recommendations from your staff. Creating a new hardware setup (even virtually) would defeat the purpose of the work we've done over the last couple of months.
  • I'm referring to the move from System Manager to the web interface, which up to this point has been slower for me. Also, by its very nature, it's a less usable interface overall. Obviously, you folks have made the decision that portability and a single interface are a more important target than usability, so I just have to…
  • Well, that's one less thing to look at, at least. Thank you, Andy. I checked, and my Queue Length is steady at 0. Since it's happening on two separate collectors in two separate locations, network-wise, this might be a hard one to track down.
