Must have Dell OpenManage installed for the following to work. I have personally seen these work with OM 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4. Chassis Intrusion - 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.200.10.1.30 Fan Status (Combined) - 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.200.10.1.21 Memory Device Status (Combined) - 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.200.10.1.27 Power Supply…

Thank you. I realize the answer is the typical "it depends", but I appreciate the information! This is exactly what I needed at the moment.

Actually, the older admin pack DID allow you to add/remove/manage your nodes. In a later release that was removed and only maps and reports could be managed. That apparently lead to the admin pack being discontinued. A web-based administration capability will be better though, if it is done right.
-
Haley, Are there any plans to add Purge old configs to the configuration settings so that this can be done automatically?
-
The service console that you configured SNMP on is actually a hidden virtual machine that ESX allocates 512MB of memory to and starts automatically when an ESX host starts up. That is where the 512MB of memory is coming from.

We are considering changing to Virtualcenter for this purpose. Having been I user of both Orion and Virtualcenter for sometime, I can say that I don't think Orion will ever be a complete replacement for Virtualcenter. Virtualcenter does much more than just monitoring resources. It is a central management platform that…

I also have the same problem. I was asked to use a custom poller to graph the current used by an APC PDU. The snmp response is 124 for 12.4 A. I would love to have the custom poller divide by 10 for me. Denny/Solarwinds, is this feature already on the requested features list? I have seen that SNMP tables support is…

I'll chime in here as well. I have worked in an "all Cisco shop" where NCM made it really easy to inventory all of the network devices and keep that inventory up to date. I have always read about multi-vendor support in release notes and marketing materials since the day that NCM was introduced (as Cirrus back then). Now…

Here you go Chris.

I have attached a fixed version of \Inetpub\Solarwinds\App_Code\NodeTree.cs. Replace that file and let me know how it works for you. This version will tree null values the same as blank ones. That works! Replacing the file fixes the issue. Is the specific treatment of blank custom properties (display ungrouped at the…

I am now receiving the following error on some "Process Monitor - SNMP" monitors: "Unexpected error occurred. An item with the same key has already been added." I have not changed the configuration of APM lately, so that error message seems strange to me. Anyone else receiving this message?
-
I would like to know this as well. This would be one of the nicest things to happen to me. :)

Running ACS 4.1(3)

Since the GRE Tunnel is created between the two devices, as long at the netflow source and destination are behind the Juniper devices (and not somewhere in the middle) then there shouldn't be a problem.
-
Assuming that we are talking about the UnDP top XX resource, I have actually seen this problem too. The sorting problem exists for single and double digit numbers, much like the example above with double and triple digit numbers. Solarwinds, do you already have this bug in your database?
-
Miron, I can reproduce this if I name an interface in a similar fashion. I believe it is because of the way that the <> characters are parsed for the web. As you may or may not know <> are used to enclose HTML tags and that is probably why you are seeing that problem. If you choose another character (or remove the <<>>)…

Customer Portal -> Licensing & Maintenance (along the top menu) -> License Management -> Find "Orion Network Performance Monitor" and select "Choose Download" -> You should see it under "Additional Components"
-
You should be able to accomplish this with a condition group. For instance: Trigger Alert when none of the following apply field Volume Description contains "Real Memory"
-
I have also seen this behavior in Firefox (version 2) running on Windows XP. I see it most when I create a syslog view that changes the default parameters.
-
This seems more like a bug than a feature request. Is this how Orion NPM works by design? If so, what are the steps required to update the Trap.NodeID field going forward once the node is added to Orion NPM?
-
I have Orion 9.1 installed and I am not having this problem. You may want to open a support ticket.

damienball, Right date, wrong month. It is scheduled to be released on Sept. 29th. See:
-
No, I believe he is talking about the audio alerts on the main Orion page. This feature is in Orion v8 or later.
-
You may need to discover the "Custom Property Editor" on the Orion server. Perhaps the city and states are setup as custom properties on each node. Custom Property Editor -> Edit Nodes
-
I was looking for a way to do this as well.

I agree. A list of known bugs would actually encourage me to upgrade quicker in some instances. The hardest part about the decision to upgrade is not knowing what bugs you can reasonably expect to encounter. A list of known bugs would cut down on duplicate posts to thwack, it would save valuable time for busy professionals…

Orion uses SNMP for monitoring disk space so no client installation is necessary as long as SNMP is already installed on the server.
-
It would be great if automatic scaling was an option. That way we could pick and choose the graphs that we wanted to auto-scale.
-
There are too many variables here. If you add some more information it will give someone a greater chance of helping you. What IOS/CATOS version are you running on the 6509 switches? Hybrid or native mode? Are all the switches running the same version? What version of Orion and NTA are you running?
