This feature really sounds like a no-brainer... I wonder why it wasn't implemented this way in the first place.
-
Can't believe this still hasn't been implemented... Bump!
-
I would imagine it would be similar to the feature to automatically add interfaces. You would be able to create a filter that specified which interfaces to remove and (hopefully) be able to apply it across multiple devices (by device type for instance) or to a single device. This would allow me to automatically remove any…

My biggest problems with interface discovery are as follows: * Virtual interfaces (i.e. port-channel and sub-interfaces) that are created need to be added automatically but all other interfaces discovered (that aren't currently being monitored) need to be ignored. * Interfaces with specific descriptions need to be added,…

Because I want the cleanliness of the look of that resource without having all of the functionality of the resource. The custom html I used for the charts (from the post I mentioned), generates the chart image but doesn't include the resource and isn't clickable. The page seems to load faster that way and makes it easier…

I would like to know how to put the "Disk Volumes" resource, that you see when you view the Node Details for a Windows server, on a summary page so that I can see all of the disks involved with a MS cluster for instance. I am also working to add graphs and other things to this view (using the link I mentioned above), so a…

I am looking for a way to add volumes from multiple nodes to a single view without using the <iframe> tag. Is this possible? Is there a way to do it with <img src> similar to the method described here: The problem that jibutt13 mentions above is what I am running into. When viewing the source for the disk volume resource,…

I am using Gob's Syslog Parser and I just upgraded to 9.1 SP1. This did indeed restore the functionality for me.
-
Is this configurable or will this be configurable in the next release?
-
Out of curiosity, does this work? ALTNAME Like '${Site_ID}*'
-
@Dal I have noticed that isn't working too. It appears that as of Orion 9.1 you can no longer specify the MessageType (or probably any other options) in the URL and that would be why Gob's resource no longer works that way.
-
Thanks for your time. It took awhile (longer than a few hours), but over the weekend sometime, all of my unmonitored traffic disappeared and I am seeing the correct applications as I should. On another note, you mentioned NTA 2.2.1. I am anxiously awaiting this release to fix a bug with the new DSCP/ToS feature. I assume…

Thanks Mark! The original Map Maker hotfix did not fix my problem. This version of the hotfix works great!
-
I can confirm that the above Custom HTML, NodeName = ${NodeName}, works and properly displays the node name in place of the variable in 8.1.
-
I have two "All Nodes - Tree" resources on my main page and after installing SP2 it is still slow. Once I remove those resources from the main page, the page loads much faster.
-
We'll also consider adding more options to all charts, but the more people who ask, the higher the priority. I would like more options in all charts by default. I have wanted this for some time but just not taken the time to ask. The additional option that would help me the most is "Last 24 Hours".

I am still using the version of "ConfigListing.asp" that user rdeprez wrote from the thread that you listed above (and I quoted). It works fine for me in 8.5.1 and it requires authentication.
-
You shouldn't need to check System for those records. Remember that NTA won't retroactively mark stuff; if the traffic has already entered the system as Unmonitored, it's going to stay that way. Yeah but if I am always looking at the traffic for the last 15 minutes (by default), shouldn't I eventually see the "Unmonitored…

I am able to add an AD account and just enter a random password (which is just ignored for Windows pass through authentication). Then the user is able to login with Windows pass through authentication and it works just fine. Does this not work for you?
-
We've never said that we will definitely support Cisco WLC. Based on our current plans, it's not on the roadmap in the next 6-9 months. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Denny, We are evaluating Cisco LWAPs vs. Autonomous APs at the moment. Just so I am completely clear, are you saying that Cisco LWAPs and WLCs will most likely…

This is a good idea. Perhaps it could even work the other way as well, where you select node dependencies for each node from a list and it creates the map for you dynamically based upon this information. I have seen this working with other products.
-
You all should feel to continue to discuss, but we're not going to comment any further on what other companies have done or are doing. This is a feature that SolarWinds would like to deliver within Orion, and we are engaged in discussions with Google to determine whether we can make it possible in a way that our lawyers…
-
sedmo, That definitely helps, I meant to post a reply before. Solarwinds, I would, however, still like to see a variable that is effectively created by doing this behind the scenes within the application instead of using SQL queries.
-
I am also having similar problems with NTA 2.1. Before the upgrade, the page would load quickly. Now if I have only a few sources, it loads fine. But when I select the same amount of sources I had before, the NTA main page and the options page both load VERY slowly.
-
Brandon If you are familiar with RRD functionality, that would be awesome. I think it would be nice to allow it to auto-scale by default but have the option to override that with a Min & Max. This is all just thinking out loud and off the cuff. I also agree with this. This would enable most graphs to work automatically,…

I am also having this same problem. I believe it may have begun after the installation of SP2 for Orion 8.5.1. Is there a temporary workaround that we can use while we are waiting for a permanent fix? I have opened case #28017 for this.
-
Ok. I added all of the ports and enabled them as specified above and I still have a lot of "Unmonitored Traffic" as well. What are the System checkboxes for in that table? Do I need to check them too? I certainly don't want to without knowing what they are for.
-
Haley, thanks that worked. The problem now is that anyone can access the configurations without login in to the webpage by typing the whole URL. I had used someone's solution for this based on this posting. I changed it a bit to meet my needs and it worked on anything < 8.5 , but if I used the same customized one it seems…
-
Tim, I would just like to say that the information that you provided helped me as well. I was in the same boat as aLTeReGo and this allowed me to install Orion 9.1 and fixed any residual effects of AppMon. I appreciate all of the technical information that you continue to post to Thwack. Thanks, Samuel

So if the font wasn't different, then this resource would work for you? The font is the problem?
