I use NPM10 and have the latest NX-OS on the 5k and I can see everything fine.

I also noticed that my polling completion had fallen below 99% on both pollers. So I killed netpermon on each poller and restarted it. This solved the super high read queue (back down to the normal high average of 5+) and my polling completion went back above 99%.

I am with everyone on this but I think we need to keep something in mind. SolarWinds for the price point is an excellent tool set allowing you to do things that only very expensive tool sets normally allow. Without the price point in mind it is still excellent but with the price point its an absolute home run especially if…

This is as far as I can get on it. I am not a programmer so I am not sure what this means exactly. I would think I am on the right track but I am not sure what the errors means. Testing on node expense.gers.ihost.com: failed with 'NotAvailable' status Response page still contains login formPage contains 2 form(s). Form…

Understood, and it is indeed a wonderful feature. But not being able to see the site go managed or unmanged or what state it might be in after you remanage it until a minute later I think has to be considered as issue. maybe not a severe issue but an issue none the less.

While we are on the topic of building a strong support infrastructure, please keep in mind that currently Teir 1 support is very weak to the point of dragging out issues much longer than needed in some cases. On the other hand teir 2 is VERY strong. About 25% of my cases I would guess (tops) are solved by teir1 whereas the…

If you would like to reach out to another user with the same products for anything please just email me. We run Orion in a large enviorment and we have it on 6 servers. I cannot imagine running it all on one no matter the horsepower. But that's just my 2 cents.
-
Yes I have upgraded to 3.5 and have a ticket open with support. But right now netflow is doing some unholy things to my SQL box and we had to turn it off per support so the rest of Orion will run. It has been a day and a half since I have heard from anyone I guess no one cares if the app is broken so long as they got paid…

mine do not work at all when scheduled, they keep timing out.
-
I have the same issue, mine it at 50gb.
-
I use additional web servers and do not really have a complaint about performance. Anytime I have to use the main webserver on the main box now THAT is slow but again we do not use so it is not an issue for us.
-
I agree with that, more cores would be better. And you are welcome. :)
-
Actually what I do is alert on anything that is emergency/alert/critical. I would not try to filter beyond that, I have had odd ball errors end up pointing out failures.
-
I too think this would be awesome to have but I think it only is worth it if the info is pulled from the firewall. If you are just keeping the info statically you might as well do it in a spreadsheet. One of the best things currently about IPAM is it checks every so often so you do not have to be concerned with…

Cisco TAC is still digging into this. Can this be brought to the Dev's attention to make sure that NPM 10 is not over pollings in some weird circumstances or sending malformed SNMP packets? I have about 15 of these chassis's in my company with the same SUP-6-E so this has me very nervous. As in the next time I see it NPM…

I have been using ip flow ingress as of late and it seems to work fine. One difference between ip route-cache flow and ip ingress is ip ingress/egress is targeted just for the interface you put it on. IP route-cache flow when put on a high level interface will also apply to subinterfaces automatically.
-
I have this exact same thing going on for about 200 Cisco nodes and has through the last several revisions of Orion. All Cisco nodes show mem utilization well beyond what is being used.

"How would you resonably expect SolarWinds to collect data that isn't available to collect?" I am just a customer with a need. I do not expect anything other than SolarWinds will attempt to fill my need. I am not a developer or programmer nor do I work for SolarWinds, it is not my responsibility to know anything other than…

Ah good info thanks.
-
I think there are 2 issues here. But before I mention what I think they are I believe we need to all keep in mind how unique SolarWinds is. Good product, good price, lots of functionality and we all basically have direct access via thwack to product managers. No one has anything like this and I think it is of great benefit…
-
I find not looking at discards a scary proposition. They will clue you into an oversubscribed interface before it gets so bad users notice.
-
Tickets need to be able to be escalated by the customer and their needs to be a clear process for this. Maybe also we can cut down the sales force that emails me 45 times a day about things I already own and get service managers that we as customers can contact about issues with service and possibly escalate through. When…

I am not sure if it includes universal pollers or not, but in my case that does not matter to much as I only have a few of those.
-
Yes and it does the exact same thing.
-
I walked into this when I checked it this monring. Maintenance should have finished hours ago but this is the kind of thing I see sometimes. Granted this is worse than usual.
-
Great explanation thank you!
-
And in response to the universal poller thoughts. Sure I could do that for a zillion different MIBs for a thousand different printers but I rather pay you a few thousand dollars so all I have to do is click INSTALL, NEXT, NEXT , FINISH. :P
-
I don't see any 4500's in the report at all no matter how I run it.
-
Ah ha, you are right. It was several pages down. Let me work with that. Thanks for that tid bit.

We currently use syslog on our firewalls to log all connections inbound and outbound. Obviously this is intensive and cumbersome. Without having tried it via netflow I cannot say for sure but my thought would b doing the same thing through netflow would be cleaner and more effcient.
