has anyone gotten NPM to monitor bandwidth/error/drop stats on a Nexus fabric extender interface? We can poll/trend this information from the Nexus 5k's but no information is there for the 2K ports.
When we use the if mib if shows all the sats for the ports on the 5k - when it gets to the Fabric extender ethernet ports there is no data for them. Through the CLI there are stats.
I will open a case with Cisco but thought I would look here as well.
The 2k's say they support the IF-MIB... can't you see it there? The docs say all these are supported on 2k:
Configuration MIBs
• ENTITY-MIB
• IF-MIB
• FABRIC-EXTENDER MIB
• CISCO-ENTITY-EXT-MIB
• CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB
• CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB
• CISCO-ETHERNET-FABRIC-EXTENDER-MIB
Monitoring MIBs
• RMON-MIB
The CISCO-ETHERNET-FABRIC-EXTENDER-MIB is relatively new:
Not sure what you really get out of there but might be worth a look:

I would think if you can't see the interface data on 2k's like the 5k's then there's a possiblity there's an issue/bug etc. with version of the code it's running... we've seen this before with some code versions on other switches have known bugs.
Please post the findings. I am having the same issue and would love a resolution.
Are you on the latest NXOS?
I found a free tool on Cisco website that allows you to monitor statistics for Fabric Extender ports.

It seems N7k needs license but Nexus 500 and Fabric extenders can be managed without any cost.
We have been working with the Nexus BU and you should be able to monitor them with Orion. If not send me a PM and we can investigate.
I am having the same issues as the other on monitoring the 2K FEX ports. I can certainly monitor everything I need to on the 5k, including the 10gb FEX uplink ports. However, all of the 2k edge ports all show "No data for the selected time period" for all of the graphs. Also, the utilization gauges show a -2% value. We have only been able to use these thus far for up/down status but need the ability to query for utilization and errors.
What am I missing?
I use NPM10 and have the latest NX-OS on the 5k and I can see everything fine.
