@vinay.by 's suggestion is a good one. If you need an alternative then here's how I see it being done. You will ultimately need three alert definitions; one for Warning alerts, one for resetting a timestamp and one for Critical alerts. Prerequisites: Start by creating a Custom Property for groups. The purpose if this…

It sounds like there are missing routers or L3 Nodes not yet added to UDT (Nodes with IP/ARP tables) that UDT needs in order to weave IP addresses into MAC addresses found on switches. Also, you might be running out of steam or into polling issues on the polling engine. Did you check UDT polling intervals and polling job…

You might be asking for something slightly more complex, but in case you missed it, you can change the status rollup mode for a group to show best, show worst or mixed status. If you select show best then the group will stay up/warning even if one of several group members is down. The group status/availability will only…

You can do this today by chaining alerts together. For example, you can send a Syslog message to localhost and have one or more Log rules defined to listen for said Syslog then send a new alert to a specific destination. Depending on your requirements (payload, frequency, spedd etc.) you might even consider doing it…

Going by the available Boomi API documentation, this should be possible to achieve if you use an API poller for: POST https://api.boomi.com/api/rest/v1/{accountId}/ExecutionRecord/query Source: https://developer.boomi.com/docs/api/platformapi/ExecutionRecord#tag/ExecutionRecord You can then create an Alert for the object…

If the Client name that you wish to include is in the first Varbind (lastActivityClient) then you will need to include the following variable in your alert message: ${vbData1} This will be converted to whatever data is presented in the first varbind. Likewise, if you want to include the output from additional Varbinds then…

If the Client ID is included in a specific Varbind (OID/Name), then you can pass on the value of the Varbind in the alert message.

The volumes (virtual memory) that you see when listing resources on the AIX Node are, among other types of volumes, the actual paging spaces but listed as virtual memory volumes. The script in the default AIX template uses prtconf to calculate total swap and percent usage of those same paging spaces. This should satisfy…

Start by figuring out why they picked NetDico. Get a list of items/features that they need. Then compare it to what is available or can be built, in UDT.

FYI, SolarWinds implemented EPSS (Exploit Prediction Scoring System) in SecObs and this was shipped in 2026.1.

What you are looking for can be achieved by using the default AIX template in the SAM module of HCO (now known as OSH). The default AIX template has a component called "Memory and Swap statistics (MB)". It pulls the system-wide aggregate for: Used_Swap = Total × (Percent Used / 100) Free_Swap = Total − Used_Swap It matches…

Another way of doing it, is to monitor the AP's directly as Nodes with dynamic IP address if they are DHCP managed (ICMP only). When the Node stops responding then you get a Node down alert. You can optionally tie in the AP information such as SSIDs, Channels, Controller, Client details to the Node. Monitoring hundreds or…

We haven't run into any issues upgrading the Linux agents. However, I would suggest that you disable Allow automatic agent updates under /Orion/AgentManagement/Admin/Settings.aspx BEFORE upgrading. Once the upgrade is complete, update a single Linux agent as a test/validation from the Manage Agents page. Select the Agent…

Ask #1 – Permissions - You will need Manage Views and Manage Dashboards premissions Ask #2 – Device onboarding for OT - Before you start scanning, make sure to update the ICMP DATA field under Polling Settings (Orion/Admin/PollingSettings.aspx). Change it to 32 characters. This is because most older OT gear do not respond…

I have so many to mention but I will start with LA. 1. I would really like a description field added to Custom Rules. Adding all the rule-specific information in the Custom Rule name, makes reading the Custom Rules very difficult. 2. I have around 400 pages of Custom Rules and they keep increasing. I can search for a…

MFA is typically deployed to only enforce logon type 2: interactive logons (RDP, Console). WMI monitoring would not be affected by MFA because it uses logon type 3. There are a few exceptions where the WMI account will require interactive privileges, but that has to do with SAM application monitoring.

Functions such as adding nodes, alerting etc. will cease to function after 14 days, then more critical monitoring functionality stops completely after 30 days.

Unless you are using a stateful firewall in between the SolarWinds server and your SNMP devices, then the return trafic will be blocked unless you have a rule/policy/access list to allow it.

I am not familiar with version 2026.0.1 (from your title) or version 2026.0.2 (from your post), but 2026.1 RC1 (RELEASE CANDIDATE) release notes can be found here: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/release_notes/release_notes_aggregator.htm?p=npm&v=2026-1&sort=product&expand=false…

Epic doesn't even cover it. This release is absolutely legendary! Every tweak and feature addition screams 'we listened, we innovated, we conquered'. You didn't just meet expectations, you shattered them into a million shiny pieces. Hats off to the wizards who made the impossible routine! Seriously, you all must have PhDs…

Hi Danielle, Is there a shotcut to a recent content/posts page? All I can see is the last 8 contents. I can't tell what has been answered or not. Thanks in advance.

Awesome!

I was always under the impression that the selections in Advanced filtering options were AND based, not OR based. Have you ever run into any issues with this?

You may be using an older version of Orion that is still using 1024 bits. We have 1024 bits but that is used by WPM. I am hoping this will be resolved soon. |-Subject : CN=SolarWinds-SEUM_PlaybackAgent |-Signature Algorithm : SHA-1 With RSA Encryption

Hi Rob, What is the max amount of agents, server or network, than can be deployed and managed?
