can you and if so how do you get storage manager to use AD authentication
Hi Darryl,
You can find the LDAP settings on the web console > settings > User Authentication.
There is a screenshot with example fields in the admin guide. Click the User Authentication Section.
Some additional info for you, if you need to see the ad authentication error code, it would be contained in the webserver.log:
<install dir>\webapps\ROOT\logs\WebServer.log
If you want to verify the settings, you can also use a free ldap browser.
Also note, when LDAP authentication is enabled, all default accounts apart from the admin account will be unusable.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Alan
Thanks for the links.
Is it necessary to fill in all fields. I do not have details of a URL for our AD server
Also even with LDAP Authentication Enabled when a user is created, a password is requested is this the users AD password as I should not know this, or a new password or should it be left blank
All fields will be needed. The password in STM wont matter. We ignore it and authenticate against LDAP.
When a user logs in for the first time it will create a user in STM. You do need to go in and edit the user to give it the permissions you want. Just as an FYI.
Got there eventually after much digging into domains.
Any chance the set up could be changed to match the one in Orion
And can the Virtualisation Manager be changed as well please
