Hi there, I have been reading about all of the new features in 5.5 - and they all look great! Our production Solar Winds environment is all SNMP polling, not WMI. My questions are: 1) To benefit from the latest features do i have to switch to WMI polling 2) I see that is deletes all of the node history. This is…
I have 21 ESXi servers being monitored by Orion NPM 10.7. All are HP BL460c blade servers (G6, G7 and Gen8). Everything has been working flawlessly until yesterday. I rebuilt two of those 21 as ESXi v5.5 hosts (the others are v5.0 and v5.1). These two v5.5 servers were built the same way I have built all of the others -…
I am attempting to configure a LEM monthly backup to a Windows 2008 server using the archiveconfig command. Everything goes smoothly until I try to start a backup then I get the following "Syntax error: EOF in backquote substitution." This error message is preceded by examples of "mount" commands and their explanations.…
I see options for the backupconfig and archiveconfig but which is the proper backup the 5.6 upgrade is asking about? The upgrade asks for a backup, but the documentation doesn't say how to perform this backup...that I could find. Also, assuming this backup will backup the database to a network share, how do I find out the…
Error is "Cannot activate new firewall rules for hostname change" Anyone know what this might be??
Hello, As I'm working through setting up a device, I keep running into this error message when trying to add a DS Group. Unable to Retrieve Group Unable to return: exception: class java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1 The first line is the title of the window. I have been able to add other DS Groups and DS Users…
Hi, We were doing MS 2003 server patches the other day and we rcvd 100's of alert emails. I'm wondering if next month, there is a better way than just turning off (individually) all the alerts prior to doing the maintenance? Cheers, archerinvan
I have one server that will not return the status of for the services being monitored. AND, the cpu information is not returned for this node. We ran the shell command 'get-wmiobject -class win32_service -computer name.domain.local and the service statuses are returned. The application template used for this server was…
I have a rule that is enabled, but incorrect. It was configured to send an email notification, however, it did not have any recipients identified. Now, I can't disable, modify or delete the rule and it fires constantly as seen in the LEM Internal Events filter, but obviously not content is being sent. Basically, I see this…
Just upgraded to SAM 5.5 I have HyperV, both 2008 R2 and 2012 flavors. SAM 5.5 is picking up my CSV volumes in 2012 server(C:\ClusterStorage\...) but not in 2008 R2, is this by design? Are we going to get performance metrics for CSV volumes like physical disks(IOs, disk queue, etc..) Let me know if I need to open a support…
