Monitor CSV - SAM 5.5

Just upgraded to SAM 5.5

I have HyperV, both 2008 R2 and 2012 flavors. SAM 5.5 is picking up my CSV volumes in 2012 server(C:\ClusterStorage\...) but not in 2008 R2, is this by design?

Are we going to get performance metrics for CSV volumes like physical disks(IOs, disk queue, etc..)

Let me know if I need to open a support request.

I should add, on 2012 server WMI monitoring is seeing it as "HyperV Server." Additionally no hardware health monitoring option. 2008 R2 has the correct hardware health option.

Hardware Health is provided by the vendor supplied agent software installed on the server. As for CSV's SAM 5.5 provides out of the box monitoring of Windows Volume Mount Points, not Cluster Shared Volumes. If you need to monitor your CSV's I recommend taking a look at our Virtulization Manager or logging a feature request in the Ideas section of Thwack.

They are showing up on a 2012 server as mount points.

In regards to hardware health. Same hardware systems with 2008 R2 have Hardware Monitoring. Upgraded to 2012 and it's disappeared. These are IBM X2850 machines, without any special IBM software installed(with either windows server release).

The Windows Operating System is not aware of the status of any of the underlying hardware components without the installation of the 3rd party provided agent software. In your case this would be IBM Director. The hardware health information SAM collects is all vendor specific and not generically available from Windows itself. With that said, I recommend you download and install the latest version of the IBM Director Agent and install this on your IBM server. Once done, click "List Resources" on the Node in SAM and hardware health monitoring should appear as an option.
