I have 21 ESXi servers being monitored by Orion NPM 10.7. All are HP BL460c blade servers (G6, G7 and Gen8). Everything has been working flawlessly until yesterday. I rebuilt two of those 21 as ESXi v5.5 hosts (the others are v5.0 and v5.1). These two v5.5 servers were built the same way I have built all of the others - fully patched, HP drivers/extensions installed and SNMP enabled/configured.
When I go to discover these two new servers in Orion, the following things happen:
1. The initial SNMP verification may work, it may not
2. IF the initial SNMP verification did work, the full node discovery may work, may not work or may not list all of the devices in the node
3. IF the initial SNMP verification did work, and the full node discovery did work, the interfaces associated with the node, at random, show as up, down or unknown - constantly changing
4. When I saw this random behavior, I would go to the node in Orion and select the List Resources. Every time I did this, it would fail with "node is currently down, unreachable or provided credentials are not valid".
In my research, I read the SNMPv3 is not working on the VMware side, but I am selecting SNMPv2c - as I always have.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Update #1 - Because someone will ask, I just rebooted both of the ESXi v5.5 servers and the Orion server. The problem still exists.
