Hello Folks, I would like to see with the forum members if someone here gets this issue or misconfiguration when setting a OSPF alert with some custom properties to filter the neighbors before trigger the alert. To show on the alert actions the information about the ISP name, circuitID and link speed to my Service Desk to…
Hello, I will need to build a report based on the OSPF adjacency syslog for a group of 10 routers. Doing a report based on the "Log manager for Orion Nodes" seem to not work: Does anyone had an advice on how I can do it? Thanks
There's been a few posts in the past but I do not see a working solution posted yet. Hoping someone who is good at SQL/SWQL can help find a way. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/network-performance-monitor-npm/f/forum/61547/bgp-neighbor-custom-table…
Noc view for Routing.Neighbors table I use custom property on node - WAN_router = 1 to just report on WAN routers. SWQL script: select distinct t2.NodeID, t2.caption as [Caption], ' /Orion/images/StatusIcons/Small-' + t2.StatusLED + ' ' AS [_IconFor_Caption], t2.info as [Total Conn], t2.OSPF as [OSPF Conn], t2.OSPFUpCount…
The aim is to log a single ticket( in notes) against a WAN site being reported as down, in other simple rollup WAN site down as single alert. Issue: Currently a single routing neighbor going down shows as multiple alerts in the All Active Alerts resource Current setup is alerting on routing neighbors in Orion Platform:…
Hello Thwackers, It would be a great help if someone provides me the solution for OSPF alert configuration. NPM has out of the box alert for OSPF Neighbor State change based on the SNMP Polling( using OID - 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10 to get OSPF neighbor states). But what i observed is if any OSPF neighbor went down, the entries…
We are using NPM 11.0.1 monitoring OSPF neighbor events on our Cisco equipment. Several times now this event was logged: 12/5/2014 2:22 AM The neighbor 10.225.3.198 on Node ourhost.com went down. When checking the switch for corresponding neighbor events on that date and time, none were found. Why is this alert being…
We are having a problem when alerts are generated for ospf peers that have been decommissioned and will not come back. We are forced to rely on a defined value of, in this case 60 hours, time that has elapsed since the neighbor was changed. By doing this the decommissioned neighbors time-out after 60 hours, which is great.…
Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is an adaptive, interior gateway routing protocol for Internet Protocol (IP) networks. It routes IP packets within a single independent system, detecting changes such as link failures. OSPF determines the shortest path around these failures for each route. Avery important thing to important…
Welcome to the SolarWinds Blog Series, ‘Basics of Routing Protocols’. This is the last of a four part series where you can learn the fundamentals of routing protocols, types, and their everyday applications in network troubleshooting. In the previous blog, we discussed Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), OSPF message types,…
