Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to install a remote agent that could collect all sort of data from the network he is installed in and then forward it to the main installation of Solarwind NPM. And if yes, where do i find documentation about it ? Something like this…
We are deploying agents to Linux servers. After the agent is installed and configured, the server automatically becomes monitored in Solarwinds. The resource selection seems to be minimal, and it skips adding volumes as a monitored resource. Is there a way to configure this process so that volumes are included in the…
So I am doing some training with some of my other team members on Solarwinds. This week during our meeting I went to show them the SolarWinds agents we have deployed (we have 18) and one I went to the agents page it showed only 3 online the rest you could not connect to. After our meeting I went to the agents and on the…
NPM agent is a great little tool. Until solarwinds adds native monitoring for Azure, Agents work great for Azure servers. On the Unix/Linux side the compatible list of OS is rather limited and short. We have a real need to monitor Oracle OS on the agents. And currently Oracle and a few other OS's we have are not on the…
To Agent or NOT to Agent? Thoughts?
I have recently started to use NetPath to monitor a few links to 3rd party networks and wondered if it was possible to monitor site to site with the target being another Agent Node? Would it be possible to achieve polling to other Node at a different site, or would I need to setup IIS on the remote Node in order to target…
RTTA - I'd like for my Manage Nodes window to show the OS not just for Agent-based nodes, but for WMI polled nodes. I can see that some do, but 95% don't. . So two questions, 1) How do the WMI nodes which do show OS show it, and how is it that the other WMI nodes don't? . Am I missing something?
Could anyone shed any light on how to add new syslog nodes properly. I'm trying to add an HP Procurve. I've configured it to log events to my LEM server. I know I've got the configuration correct and the LEM server address correct because I copied and pasted the config lines from an HP switch that is logging correctly. Yet…
I have multiple servers that have trouble talking to our domain controllers to authenticate the user used in the SolarWinds WMI queries and create a monitoring problem for us. As a workaround until that issue is fixed (may be months) I was wondering if agents could be utilized on the servers. I assume the servers will need…
Morning, I have an agent installed on my servers and in the norm it works. But on 2 servers I am having issues, the agent installs and runs fine, will provide response times but will not show any resources. When I list resources this happens - The devices are up and available and SolarWinds even reports them as available,…
