We recently installed our first WS-C3850-48P switches. NPM has been reporting high memory utilization, which is attributed to the lsmpi_io reading. I saw that there were similar issues with Cisco ASR devices and a customer poller was created. Are there any pollers out there than can show the correct memory utilization for…
For context, we are using Cisco 3850 switches with 16.X software. We already have the commands we wish to execute written in the script, but the issue is that it asks the technician/administrator to validate/confirm these commands (by means of user input, such as entering "y"). We want it to be able to "self-confirm"…
So, I'm curious if anyone else is having an issue with Cisco 3850s, that we were kind of lucky to find, that affects Orion. The way we noticed it was a few of our switches had the "VLAN" checkbox that is normally in "List Resources" missing. ie: Working switch Not working switch The problem turns out to be that the OID…
Is there a way to add custom properties (asset tag info) to the individual switches in a switch stack? I am looking to add the info and be able to grab it in some reporting. Thanks
We recently replaced several Cisco 2960s with 3850 stacks. After seting them up in Orion, we get several million transmit discards per hour on some ports on these switches, but not on any other models in our environment. "sh int" displays no errors. Anyone else seen this? Orion Platform 2015.1.2, NCM 7.4, IPAM 4.3, NPM…
We've just added a few 3850's into our network and noticed that Solarwinds can't seem to SSH to these boxes to grab the backup. Despite being allowed to and not being blocked by our ACL. Has anyone else run into this issue? debug ip ssh client: Dec 14 14:45:51.695: SSH3: protocol version id is - SSH-2.0-WeOnlyDo 3.0.0.184…
If I want to upgrade a stack switch. Is there anything I need to do beside push the firmware?
We are using Cisco 3850 in converged access mode where the 3850 acts as the wireless controller. When adding/listing the resources for the switch, normally the wireless controller would appear as an option for monitoring (see attached). However, I have 2 switches which where I cannot get the wireless controllers to appear…
We have approximately 100 Cisco 3850 switches we monitor. However, only one displays a temperature gauge which is currently in the alarm state. We are curious as to why we only see the gauge for that one switch. All the switches are on the same IOS version. The only difference is that the switch in question is a 24 port as…
I am trying to add a new Cisco 3850 to NCM - I get this error Unable to connect to polling engine "X" on the relevant server. Verify that NCM 7.4 or later is installed on the server I have plenty of other devices that have been added successfully. I am running NCM 7.4. I am stuck from here. Has anyone else seen this error…
