Hello Everyone, I recently started using solar winds, so far i think this tool is awesome. But like with every tool, i have questions.. I've installed SAM 6.1.0 and have used the network sonar discovery to find my SQL cluster nodes and the named instance vips. I then chose the AppInsight for SQL resource to monitor the…
If you find that you are running Windows 2008/2008 R2 and it is taking an inordinate time to start the Solarwinds services after a reboot, then you may want to check the MSMQ service and subsequent settings. In your Windows system log, look for event ID 7044. In that event you will see the following message: "The following…
When you reboot a 2008 Server the WAN Miniport interfaces get recreated and therefore Discovery picks them up as new interfaces again. As with a regular patching cycle servers often require reboots so it would be nice to be able to filter out the WAN Miniport drivers at a discovery level.
We are running Server 2008 R2 DCs for our RDS License Servers. Anyone know of a template or WMI counter that can be used to track issues temporary and permanent licenses? I see templates for 2003... but not 2008 / RDS. Thanks! Jed

I have disabled the firewall completely for testing, as well as allowed UDP SNMP on all three domain types. I have bounced the service…

Afternoon, I am currently migrating from a Windows 2003 domain to a Windows 2008 R2. As part of this work, i am trying to move my log fowarders off the 2008 DCs to the new 2008 Servers. The installation of version 1.1.7 works fine, but there are a couple of issues: 1) When i select the security log, i dont get the option…
I have an interesting problem running a APM script. The script is design to monitor VSS on the servers and it works just fine against 2003 servers. However, when i running against 2008R2 the script returns incorrect results. I have been able to trace the problem down to "ComputerName" argument. Since APM only able to pass…
Hey all, I've been running into an odd issue with APM and Windows Server 2008 R2 machines. I have some stored credentials in APM that are added to the servers during the build process. I have verified that the credentials work to log onto the machine and appropriate rights have been given to the user account (local…
