The map was in My Dashboards > Home > Maps. A user opened a map and meant to delete an element from it. He selected "More > Edit > More > Delete". Is there a way to recover it without restoring the database? It is no longer available in the web UI anywhere that I can see.
We are trying to develop a more efficient way of replacing a switch that has failed. The idea is to push the failed switch's config into a hot spare and then deploy the hot spare in its place. The process in NCM pushes the config to the running-config, which has its challenges, like when the config changes the IP address…
A few minutes ago I accidentally deleted my backbone switch (and all the interfaces of course). Since undeleting an element (node, interface etc.) is not possible (Except restoring SQL from backup) it means that I've lost all the interface statistics, node statistics (CPU, Memory, Availability) and atlas map drawing. And…
When exporting a folder with a range of subnets in it, it exports each subnet individually. So when you want to import it back in, you can only to do 1 subnet at a time. Plus the folder hierarchy is not maintained, nor is the description of the folder and subnets. Import and export could be a good way of backing up IPAM…
I was working on a offsite server, remotely earlier this week and accidentally messed a config up, I was curious if someone could help me figure out how to restore the server from a specific date onto another machine using SolarWinds "Recovery Console". It wont let me specify a date, don't know if there is a config that I…
The title of this post says it all. In IT, we’ve said for years you need to take and test backups regularly to ensure your systems are being backed up correctly. There’s an adage in IT: “The only good backup is a tested backup.” Why Do You Need Backups? I bring this up because I have people coming to our consulting firm…
There are a ton of things that are missing from WHD. One that people don't think of once it is setup is backups. Currently WHD uses the MYSQL or PostgreSQL backup. These are the ones I have used. Well guess what if that is broken then you don't really have a backup. WHD needs to have a better method for the backups!…
I'm looking for assistance in retrieving a map that was deleted from Network Atlas. I am still relatively new to Solarwinds and inherited from someone who is no longer with the company so pardon any obvious questions. The map was deleted a few days ago from Network Atlas and I would like to get it back for some users that…
Our security posture requires that we store Windows Event Logs (Application, System and Security) for one year. I am still relatively new to LEM, so am not sure archiveconfig will meet this requirement or not. I just want to be sure we will not be losing any logs using that method on a monthly schedule. Also, from what I…
Hello: We have a standalone IPAM box with it's own instance of Orion. We also have another box that has Orion, NPM, NCM, UDT, and NTA. We'd like to move IPAM so that it shares an Orion database and web console with the rest of the products. Does anyone have any insight into how we can accomplish that? I'm open to using SQL…
