Could anyone suggest how the Node Details and other details for F5 rSeries could be updated, as I have tried to fetch the Node details through Device studio and while trying to assign it shows but while testing on same node current value is reflecting, also all details could be seen on SNMP walk results, but is not…
Those that have been part of the Thwack Community a while may be familiar with the long running Tell us your "Unknown" devices! thread which had been active since 2007. That thread had become too unwieldy, and most of the user submissions had been implemented many years ago. I recently reviewed each and every…
SNMP is the fundamental technology in NPM and I'm aware there are many ways of implementing snmp MIBs/OIDs by different vendors. NPM has a limited set of OIDs that it polls by default, therefore NPM has Universal Device Poller (UnDP) which is used to poll custom snmp data. UnDP is Win32-based application which is a pretty…
We're trying to fill out the node details for Versa and they are splitting each rev of their code version up in different OIDs. So the below would be code version 21.1.2 (GA) as shown in CLI on the device. SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.42359.2.2.1.1.6.1.0 = Gauge32: 21 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.42359.2.2.1.1.6.2.0 = Gauge32: 1…
If you go into Settings > Manage Pollers, choose a Poller, and then click Assign, the table that pops up lets you do the typical "Group by" and searching that is ubiquitous throughout Orion. However, it doesn't let you sort or search on the "Scan Result" and "Poller Status" columns nor does it let you Filter on any column…
There is either a big miss by SolarWinds when it comes to the management of the relatively new F5 Polling feature, or I'm overlooking something on my end. I've been a big advocate of the new Manage Pollers feature (AKA: Device Studio) because it has made bulk editing standard poller assignments much easier, as well as…
This is my first attempt at a Device Studio poller package to correctly identify the Cisco ASAv virtual appliance. Identifies the correct machine type, along with System name, description, sysLocation, sysContact, and software version.
I'm trying to create some "Node Details" pollers for giving better Machine Type descriptions to several devices. Two examples I'm working with are F5 Big-IP vCMP Guest Nodes and Nexus 9000 series (specifically DS-C9710 and N9K-C9504). The F5 vCMP Guest's show up as Vendor Unknown and Machine Type as either "Linux…
I'm creating a Machine Type Poller that gets the model number, but the model Number only can be found in a SNMP table. Per the instructions in the screenshot below it says I have to create a calculated value: However, the calculated values are things like Average, Sum, and Count. I found you can also use Max (it's not…
Hi Was trying to create a custom poller using the Device Studio as per this article When Good OIDs Go Bad: Customizing Device Pollers however noticed we didn't have the option to choose "Node Details" from the technology drop down. Anyone know why this might be? Versions: NCM 7.1, NPM 10.7, IVIM 1.9.0 Thanks very much Steve
