If you go into Settings > Manage Pollers, choose a Poller, and then click Assign, the table that pops up lets you do the typical "Group by" and searching that is ubiquitous throughout Orion. However, it doesn't let you sort or search on the "Scan Result" and "Poller Status" columns nor does it let you Filter on any column like you can in the Custom Property Editor (which is really weird because it looks like they are using the same table type). It also doesn't let you add in columns to help sort/search/filter. The end result is that with thousands of nodes I often have to result to SQL Update queries to save myself all of the tedious hunting and clicking that would be required. I need to be able do more than just "Group by" a single property and/or search on a Node name to get the devices I want to enable/disable pollers on. That's silly since a little bit of extra attention from SolarWinds could give the Manage Pollers table the ability to do better bulk editing for medium to large sized environments.
Specific Requests:
- Allow "Scan Result" and "Poller Status" to be sorted on (the sort ability is currently grayed out for those two columns. Why SolarWinds? Why can't we at least sort by these???)
- Allow the Search box at the top right-hand side of the table to search on any column that is visible, not just the Node Caption column
- Allow users to add in columns to the table. These columns should be fully searchable and sortable
- Allow filtering on any column visible on the table (this is different than searching. We should be able to click on the drop-down arrow beside the column and filter on just that column)
- Allow all of these activities to be combined. (In other words, if I've filtered the "Scan Result" column to only show "Exact Match" and the "Poller Status" column to only show "Off"/"Disabled", when I "Group by" Vendor of Cisco then I should only see Disabled Cisco devices that are an Exact Match.
- Basically just give us all of the Search/Sort/Filter capability that the current Custom Property Editor has and put that into the Manage Pollers Assign screen.
- While you are at it, do that for every other page where there is a table of data, ESPECIALLY the "Manage Nodes" table, the IPAM "Manage Subnets" / "Manage DHCP Servers" / "Manage DNS Zones" tables, the SAM "Manage Application Templates" / "Manage Assigned Application Monitors" tables, and any other table you can find that doesn't have this capability throughout the Orion web console. I mean seriously, unless you have less than 100 nodes it is extremely frustrating to bulk edit items in these tables, especially when you've worked with the Custom Property Editor and know that SolarWinds is capable of creating such a powerful sorting and filtering table such as that... Why not spend some time and implement that everywhere??
