There are MAC addresses in the dot1dTpFdbTable, at least in MOXA switches, that aren't being grabbed by UDT. The MOXA switches don't have a vmMembershipSummaryTable. VLAN information for the ports does exist in the dot1qPortVlanEntry(1.3.6.1.2.1.17.7.1.4.5.1.1) table. Unfortunately, the dot1qTpFdbPort table only has 1 MAC…
Ability to compare “max secure MAC address” vs “current secure MAC address” and make a report that shows these differences. If you have a switch port which is configured with max allowed 10 MAC addresses but only 8 MAC addresses are currently secured (8 in use). And the port on the switch is configured with sticky. Then…
Had a colleague ask me a favor the other day. They are auditing what links we have at sites and are trying to make sure old cable DIA connections are disconnected and such. I was made aware of it when they said one site had 2 cable connections and I only saw one. They had no idea how to figure out which connection was…
Any off-the-shelf solutions for that? I need to keep a log of changes done to the systems, and be able to quickly match MAC, IP addresses with physical hardware (and VMs) and Orion objects. Ideally it'll plug into Orion database but I understand it's not that simple. We have 100+ servers, 40+ VMs. Thanks!
Hi Guys, At the moment I'm using NPM, NCM, and UDT. And what I'm wondering is...... I have a list of MAC addresses for some new CCTV cameras which are being installed on the network. When a CCTV camera is on the network, the Vlan of the switch port it is connected to is changed to our security Vlan. At the moment this is…
Hi, I'm trying to create a custom poller in NPM to find the # of MAC addresses in use on a switch. This particular poller will be used on Cisco 3750s and 6509s. I thought that cmnMacAddressesLearnt (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.215.1.1.3) would be a good place to start. The description is: "Indicates the number of MAC addresses learnt…
IPAM only can get one ip's mac by snmp , can it get ip's mac from scan other ips arp table ( including router or gateway) by dhcp? It is possible to get arp from snmp , isn't it?
This is a very simple report that displays the total number of MAC addresses on the network as discovered by Network Sonar. Ensure you have a scheduled Network Sonar discovery configured before running the report to ensure you have accurate information being collected.
Hello, sorry if this has been asked, been trying to search the forums this morning and I keep getting resource not available errors. I'm trying to find a way to search the arp tables of my switch nodes for an IP being used by a DHCP client. Is that even possible? I can search for the IP in IPAM and see that its "used" but…
Running 9.5 SP1 with latest hotfix... We have a Brocade 200E fibre switch that all of a sudden I get an error when I try viewing the switch in the web interface. I get this error: Orion Website Error An error has occurred with the Orion website. Additional Information System.ArgumentException: Cannot parse a MAC address…
