Hi There,
Well I know there are templates to monitor file and folder size on Windows machines. How do I do the same for linux/ redhat machines?
Thanks
Hello,
You can import the shared templates from thwack. You can find two templates for file and directory size monitoring under "linux" templates:

Hi Lukas,
Thanks for the reply. Should say I did totally miss that. Can you let me know how to configure the alerts for the same.
Thankd
The scripts return numeric value. You need to set the Warning and Critical Thresholds for the component (on the Edit Application page). By default the alert occurs when component goes to Warning or Critical state.
I hope this helps.

Hello, Lukas. Sorry I am new to thwack. Can you please point me to where the shared templates are located ? Our system is not connected to the internet. So, I wonder where I could get the scripts you mentioned above ?
Thanks!
These templates can be found through the in-product Thwack integration under [Settings -> SAM Settings -> Shared thwack Templates]
Our system is not connected to the internet. To rephrase my question, how can I import the templates from a machine connected to the internet (thwack.com), put the files on a memory stick, and then import to our internal network's Solarwinds SAM Templates ?
They can be downloaded from the Server & Application Monitor Content Exchange at the links below.
Hi there
I was wondering if you can assist me with editing the template for the linux-unix directory size?
I have a path: 192.168.54.5/db4/db4sys/db4share/blahblah/outgoing
I don't know if i need to include the first part (the machine ip) or if it needs a //192.168.etc for the script to recognise it as I'm really not familiar with scripting.
I'm ASSUMING I should edit the template and put in the path I want monitored somewhere in there and then it'll monitor it for me? I edit it with notedpad and it does look like I can edit it so I'm fairly certain im on the right track.
Any assistance will be appreciated. Otherwise I'll log a ticket with Solarwinds themselves and see if they can assist me.
Thank you in advance
