This is a weird one. I've noticed recently since we updated to v2023.2 that we're seeing Solarwinds GUI errors more frequently. We run the Solarwinds web site on our MPE's and an Additional Web Server. Most users including support staff like me go through the Additional Web Server.
While I was looking into why the Additional Web Server was running slowly so often I noticed the periods of slowness coincide with when the SQL DB is running a transaction log back job on our Log Analyzer database. Every 15 mins while the log analyzer transaction log backup job is running the web gui runs slowly on the Additional web Server. Usually when the log is being backed up to remote disk and/or a simulated restore step is run. If we go through the GUI on the MPE's it's fine. Nice and speedy.
This additional web server slowness happens far too often when the log analyzer db is having a transaction log backup for it to be a coincidence.
I'm not sure yet but I think it might happen more often if a user has the Syslog pages open in the gui.
Has anyone seen behaviour like this? While it's happening SWIS CPU and Memory usage climbs on the Additional Web Server, but even though it doesn't max out the CPU and RAM we still get slowness.
