Setting up Oath - Failed to authorize Office365 email access. User declined to consent.

Just letting anyone who may be looking for a resolution to this error: "Failed to authorize Office 365 email access: Authorization failed with error access_denied AADSTS65004: User declined to consent to access the app."

We were on 12.7.7 and kept getting this error. We have two installs of WHD and the one on 12.7.9 worked fine. We upgraded the 12.7.7 to 12.7.9 and it instantly worked. Solarwinds tech support doesn't bother to let you know that Oath doesn't work on 12.7.7 and lets you waste your day figuring this out on your own. So I hope this post saves someone some time.

OAUTH has worked since release 12.7.2, we have been through this, 12.7.3, 12.7.5, 12.7.7 to 12.7.9 and it continued to work through all WHD version releases.

Not sure if this was the real issue but their API might have been updated as Azure is a moving target.

This error usually occurs when using expired login credentials for the mail account when doing the "Authorize" Do you use the same Azure Registered Application for both Mailboxes?

The password on the account used is set to not expire, but I changed the password anyway just to be sure it wasn't this sort of issue. That had no effect.

We have two separate registered applications since they each have different DNS entries.

But, the one that didn't work is the first one we tried to get working. It's our most used WHD instance. After spending 5 hours on that, we gave up and moved on to the other one. Which worked immediately. So the two separately registered applications didn't exist when we were starting all this. Just the one did.

You might have been suffering from this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/troubleshoot/authentication/access-denied-when-connect-to-office-365 - Also I have seen a delay in Azure propagating changes immediately.

It had hours to propagate if that was the issue. I also moved the WHD install to another server (same SQL database connection) with the same version installed 12.7.7 and I tested things. Same error that is the subject of this post. Upgraded to 12.7.9 and it immediately worked. I didn't even need to click the "authorize" button again. It was the version.
