Modems Compatible with SAM?

Good morning everyone,

The current SAM environment at the ministry that I am employed by completely relies on email connectivity to send pages to OnCall personnel.  This poses an issue because mail for the ministry has been recently migrated to a very popular cloud-based solution.  The on-premises equipment that maintains connectivity to this cloud-based solution is hosted within our virtual environment.

I am looking to incorporate a modem to be used by the SAM application server that can be used to send pages to OnCall personnel.  This will account for potential events that deem the on-premises equipment and/or virtual environment unstable.  We would then know if these events occur in the first place.

Would anyone know what modems are compatible with SAM v6.4?

There isn't a list of compatible modems with SAM that I know of. SAM really is designed to integrate with 3rd party software and that software is what will use a modem. There is an alert action for this that uses NotePage. I haven't use this option personally so I can't speak to it's setup.

What I have done in the past is use a 3rd party SMS provider called Clickatell that allowed me to send alerts to their API's which would then send SMS alerts to my phone. I posted the scripts that I wrote in this post: Clickatell - SMS Gateway - Alert Overview

Recently, I've switched to sending alerts via push notification via Slack since it's free and provided better info/formatting in my own opinion. I've posted my scripts for Slack here: Slack Alert Integration - Overview

I would also send alerts via email too, that way I would have 2 methods for sending alert in the event that one method was having issues.
