Status & Response Time - Database Query

Hello All,

I'd like to find the table name that will allow me to change the method for Status & Response Time

Our ISP is dropping ICMP packets causing false node down alerts, and I may have to do a query to change the polling method.

I don't want to manually update each node individually.

I wouldn't do this via SQL, do it via the SWIS API if you want to do it programmatically. Orion SDK 2.0 released on GitHub

Why? Because the SWIS API ensures that you keep all of the things in order. If you make direct DB edits to things that are tied across multiple tables you will break things...badly.

You can also use the /Orion/Admin/Pollers/ManagePollers.aspx page to change the poller that is being used for status. You should see 3 options -- ICMP, SNMP and agent. You can select and then assign to nodes. This keeps all the things lined up that you need to line up and also allows you to not have to learn the SWIS API + Perl or API + PowerShell.

Any reason you can't go to Settings > Manage Pollers and use the "Status & Response Time SNMP" poller and change your nodes over that way?

Edit button is disabled for all SolarWinds native pollers

Worked great for me too!!! Here are the specific steps I performed:

Under All Settings click on "Mange Pollers":

Then group by "Technology"

Next, Change the poller assignment by checking the ICMP box and clicking +Assign:

*Note - You do not need to "remove" any currently installed pollers. "Assign" can also be thought of as "Reassign".
