Alert filter

I want to disable alert on some interfaces of a network device. Like My switch is connected to router, server and desktop. If the interface of switch on which server and router attached go down then fire the alert ,,if interface attached to desktop gets down need not fire the alert. Please help.

You can configure the desktop interfaces as "unpluggable." This was specifically built for this purpose. Under "Managed Nodes," find your switch and configure each "desktop" attached interface as "Unpluggable."

Go to your list of "Managed Nodes."
Locate the node(s) with interfaces you wish to "unplug."
Expand the node (there should be a "+" in from of the node).
Select the interface you wish to configure.
Select "Edit Properties" from the top menu.
Under the interface name, in "General" information, you will see a check box labeled "Display interface as unplugged rather than down." Check it and save.

The interface will now show as unplugged it is administratively up, but opererationally down.
