I am looking for instructions on how to change the text inside the What's New widget. Is it possible to change this text, or does that come from a installation file and is updated with each release?
You are correct in that it is prepopulated with highligts about the currently installed release. I do not believe there is a way to change it.

We are new users and received the question from our techs. They were curious if this box could be used for tech only notes (like they write on their whiteboards outside their desks). I suggested using messages and showed them how to limit to tech groups. The techs like using the dashboard and thought the What's New widget would show them messages.
