Reporting to an internal Sharepoint site

Our management has requested historical metrics on things like uptime percentages, drive space, etc. All of their requests are available via the Orion website, however, I am not able to get these reports off the Orion server. Sharepoint in unable to embed or utilize credentials which are essential to login to the Orion site and it doesn't appear that Orion has the ability to export or post reports to anything other than email or to a printer. Any ideas?

there was a thread a couple of months ago about doing something like this and i believe the poster found on his own that you can actually export to a Windows share (export from Orion to HTML) and then pick it up with something like Sharepoint. i don't know if this would help you or not.

it's something in the back of my mind for future use with our own Sharepoint.

Were investigating the same option! and have found that you can export directly out of Orion to a share and have it post to Sharepoint but it is a manual process which is very painful if you need to generate reports for a lot of devices.

Are you exporting reports out of orion (if so, how?) What format are you exporting to? Right now, they are only asking for things like uptime % for all servers, etc. Any information would be helpful!!! Thanks!

Why not send the report to a mail enabled document library in Sharepoint?

I guess my question is once you send the report to Sharepoint what does Sharepoint do with it? Does it just inport it as a PDF or what ever that you can view, or is there a way to combine the data from the orion report into a sharepoint list with other data, or jsut have the oroin report get pulled into a sharepoint list? In short what can you do with the report once you send it to sharepoint?

Without some work, I don't know that you could do anything other than store the report in the document library. It would work like this -

Create a job in the report scheduler. When entering the web page source for the report, choose "Retrieve a Printable Version"
Under Actions, have the report emailed to the email address of the Sharepoint Document Library
In the Sharepoint Document Library, create a notification to the appropriate people when the report has been stored or initiate some workflow. Either way, a copy of the report is stored in Sharepoint.

Unless you export the report data or create a data connector to SQL, I don't know how you would be able to work with the data directly within Sharepoint. I've been doing this for some time, but not with reports. I have certain alert actions configured to email a copy to Sharepoint for a permanent record (e.g. when we have a T1 failure, etc.). Hope this helps at least a little.
