[Q] Email alerts and SQL Locks

Hi Guys,

We recently started to use Solar winds server application monitor. Through monitoring our SQL Server it has discovered alot of Locks, for which it often sends out email alerts

However, due to this SQL server hosting a number of clients, it would be quite useful if the alerts contained information on what DB the locks are occurring on, so as to speed up investigating issues

Is there any way to include this information in the alert?

There's a few different ways to go about including this information as part of the alert. The simplest way would be to include the database name as part of the component name, or easier still would be to append the database name to the application name itself.

If you wanted to add the name of the database to the component monitors themselves you'd have to have a template for each database. The simpler method would be to add the database name to the application as pictured below.

I don't think that would resolve my issue? Because we have multiple client databases to one SQL box, wont that just make them all appear as that one name as the application is tied to the SQL box not per database?
